I wish I had researched this doctor before being subjected to this rude, arrogant, out of touch, poor excuse for a medical professional. His nurse was sweet and kind but as soon as he stepped in the room, the appointment went downhill. He got nasty and defensive when I mentioned a comment that a pain mgmt doctor suggested for my treatment. He raised his voice to me and bit my head off when I questioned a certain procedure and told me "You all think your smart because you read something on the internet." He is a disgrace to the practice and should consider retiring ASAP because "helping" people is certainly not on his agenda. He comes off as an insecure bully but I guess there has to be someone at the bottom of the graduating medical class... take it from me, and everyone else on this post. You will be angry that you wasted your time, co-pay and energy coming into this SOB's office. Someone really needs to investigate why he is still in practice.

Dr. Patrick Collalto is rude, condescending, has no bedside manner. MRI's detailing herniations, protusions, osteophytes..etc and he treated me like I was a drug farmer when I asked for something to help with my pain with DDD, and arthitis. I seemed to have interrupted his day as he sighed and looked at me like he was bored. Asking me to "show him" where my pain was. ITS MY SPINE, I showed him on a diagram and he looked at me blankly and uninterested. The few appointments I had with him he treated me as if I was a new patient and had never seen me before in his life. He obviously didn't read my chart or cared to be familiar with his patients. This guy gives the Institute a bad name, the only thing redeeming is his wonderful staff, but he is a pompous, egomaniac, that thinks you're scum because your not on "his level". I'm so glad I dumped this doc, there is no way he cared even the slightest, definitely a "pay and get out" Doctor. Never again!

Please read the comments as they are like this for a reason. I hope no one has to face the treatment which is really condescending and arrogant. The bedside manner is as if it is a favor being done considering that we pay for the appointment. I wish I had read these comments before making an appointment. I will never return to the facility.

I will never recommend Dr. Collalto!!!!!! I had been to him in the past for years for other issues which he definitely helped, so I trusted him this time with my ankle. Big mistake! I had an ankle injury that he prescribed physical therapy and an orthopedic boot and had MRI and x-ray which he stated showed ligament damage and a bad sprain. For several months and several visits to him later I still had a lot of pain and he said "give it time, these types of sprains take time". I went for a 2nd opinion in Somerville where my new orthopedic read the MRI and xray from Dr. Collalto and immediately pointed out a broken bone on those records that Dr. Collalto missed. He ordered new tests and I ended up having a broken bone, broken bone fragments and cartilage damage and required major ankle surgery which I recently had. I did all of that physical therapy from Collalto for nothing and it made it worse. So, I was misdiagnosed and I am very angry that I had to suffer for all of those months when I should have had surgery!!!!!!!!

I would rather do surgery on my own child than have this man come anywhere near him again. As soon as he walked in the door, he made a rude comment to my son that set the tone. He appeared irritated and stated several times he was only seeing us as a favor to our family dr. He told me my son would need several surgeries to repair his hand but when I asked questions he repeatedly said he was not a hand dr. He put a brace on my son's wrist (or the nurse did) and said it wasn't worth a cast because it was an existing break. The kid was in terrible pain and he said to take some advil. He was miserable and mean - maybe research is the place for him - where he does not have to speak to anyone. When your child is in pain, the last thing you need is someone who is pompous and arrogant. This group is in serious trouble if they let someone like this represent them.

I'll never let another surgeon touch my back, he's it, the only one I'll ever trust with such a delicate procedure

I was referred to this doctor from my primary care doctor. Not communicative. Did not answer direct questions. Had to ask other doctors my concerns / translate his behavior and comments and generally wasted my time. Very condescending.

I didn't have an opportunity to research this doctor as I was just sent to him. I wish I had he is horrible. Check around the various medical rating website and everyone agrees. I had pain in my knee and he had no clue and kept jumping around about what it could be. Sent for a MRT and said I cant tell from it, let me study the MRI again and see me in two weeks. Shouldn't he had studied the MRT before or during my appointment. He was so clueless as to what my MRI shown. I am going to another doctor who knows more about the knee then he apparently does. I understand you get this doctor with a quick appointment since no one else wants to see him.

Waited 1 hr 22 mins and then he was curt, condescending, and unhelpful. He didn't ask me my symptoms he interrogated me. He was borderline unprofessional. Got my MRI rx and Nerve testing. I have two kids and need someone to help me fix the issue. He was horrible.

Dr. Collalto did my husbands total right hip replacement He was terrific. very professional, responsive to all questions, very straightforward. We appreciated his directness very much. The office is a very busy one but whenever we told the staff that we had time constraints, they made best efforts to accommodate us. Wouldn't consider anyone else for orthopedic surgery.
