Very good Doctor! Did surgery on my L-Spine with no issues and great follow-up care.

If I were you, I'd avoid Theodore Belanger at all costs. I made an appointment to see Dr Kevin Ju at their shared office. I researched Dr. Ju extensively. He was the exact doctor for the problems I had & procedures I needed. So I set the appointment up. I described the problem, they said Dr Ju was perfect for what I needed. I was so hopeful.

The day of the appt I was so excited. I'd been without insurance for years, in agonizing pain since my problems returned worse than before. It was hell & it almost broke me, but i was finally going to see the best guy for the job, Dr. Kevin Ju.

I filled out all the paperwork on their dirty ipads which are difficult to use and draw your problem areas on, but I didn't care since I was so happy to see Dr ju.
I got checked in, all was well, they brought me back, & suddenly, the gaslighting started.

First his office manager guy came in (clearly lying) & said Dr Ju didn't perform the kind of surgeries I needed (even tho he does) & I had to come back early tmro to see Dr Belanger instead. He was acting suuuper weird. I politely pushed back & told him that I HAD seen Dr Belanger before, & had a bad experience, but he continued to lie 2 me & say Dr Ju didn't perform the surgeries I needed, but I know he does because again, I researched him & there's tons of proof online that he does.

The real reason they were making me see Dr Belanger is that I happened to see him years ago, for many of the same problems I'm having now, & I think he won't let the other doctors see "his" patients since they'll contradict him & he'll look stupid. The last time I saw him, he was rude, demeaning, short, & contrarian. He told me there were no options 2 to fix my back surgically when clearly there were many. Id already been thru all the conservative treatments & injections to no avail & now had to pay $550 for the MRI & $350 for the office visit, since at that time, I did not have insurance, & that's all I got from him. He said to exercise more. I lost $900 worth of weight.

At that time I was upset, but hopeful that maybe he was right, so I did what he said & my back got worse. I had to endure another year of agonizing pain. Since I didn't have insurance or a lot of money 4 second opinions, I had to see a pain management doc in the meantime, but I still almost killed myself from the pain several times

So a year later, here I am again, telling this shifty eyed office manager i wanted to see Dr Ju, & finally he seemed to relent but said I'd still have to come back tmrow. I was upset but I'd come this far so I agreed & came back the next day, redid the paperwork, & guess who came in? Dr Bellinger!!!!
I was so confused but he just started talking. He didn't look at my MRI w/me or even pull it up. He told me he could do a Fusion for my lower back but apparently I was imagining my pinched cervical nerve since he said it didn't exist. I was dumbfounded. I told him I'd been seeing doctors for it 4 years. I had the MRI & he did too, w/all the Impressions & findings that show I have pinched nerves & several disc issues in my neck, w/ proof!

I asked to see the MRI, but he acted annoyed & said he DIDN'T KNOW HOW TO PULL UP AN MRI & would have to get the office assistant to do it. What kind of doctor doesn't know how to even open an MRI?!

So I just pulled up a photo of my mri on my phone to show him the pinched nerve, but he kept shutting me down w/out looking at it. I was never unreasonable or rude, but every time I tried to ask a question he talked over me & really made every effort to let me know how annoyed he was.

If he did answer, he tried to make me feel stupid. He talked down to me, wouldn't elaborate on his answers or explain them, & honestly seemed to take some sick kind of sociopathic joy in lying 2 me!

It was exactly the same as before, just no, no, no, & more gaslighting. I was SO upset because I know how good Dr Ju is, & I wasn't able to see him AGAIN, even though I made an appointment & they told me I could. They did a switcheroo at the last moment because I'd seen Dr Belanger before, & it seems he's so insecure that he won't let any of "HIS" patients see the other doctor, likely because he'd look like an idiot when they do a good job & contradict him.

I'd been living w/chronic pain for 2 extra years because this guy wouldn't help me before, & now I'm stuck again w/out relief because he refuses to change his mind or explain anything. Once he says something, that's it, & if it's wrong, he just digs in deeper.

Avoid this man, he may be a good doctor who's done some successful surgeries, & I really like that he does surgeries in Africa, but I gotta wonder if it's for free, or if some organization pays him. I really hope it's for free. Anyway, despite all the bad reviews, he might be good, but he has no bedside manner, & might just Gaslight & lie 2 your face, & refuse to treat you or explain why. I don't want to call anyone a narcissist but yeah...

I would not reccomend this doctor. Very rude. Will talk over you and try to make you feel foolish for asking a question.
He did not help me and even his logic didn't make since
Why did they run him out of North Carolina anyway. Don't trust him. If he can't make enough money off of you, he doesn't want you!

They take you into waiting room..Doctor comes in all huffy..looks at you..says walk toward wall and walk back to me..walks out.. and they completely forget about you sitting in the room! Terrible place.

After trying to get relief for 20 years,I finally found someone who cared about me enough to find my problem and fix it.I would recommend him to any one and have to several already.

I have had back problems for over 12 years. Dr. Belanger was recommended to me by another orthopedist. After x-rays and MRI's Dr. Belanger initially recommended rehab and spinal injections before considering surgery. I tried these options but they did not work. So, I told him that I wanted to pursue surgery. Dr. Belanger was straight forward and honest about surgery. He stated the risks, & the percentages of possible success and/ or failure of relieving my pain. He patiently answered all of my questions and explained to my understanding what the surgery would entail. I was pleased with his responses to my concerns and was impressed with his self-confidence in his ability to help me. He fused L-3 & 4, and L-4 & 5 with screws and rods and stabilized a fracture in one of the vertebrae, and cleaned out the arthritis in my spine. At this time I feel the surgery was successful and I highly recommend Dr. Belanger for his professionalism, surgical skills, bedside manner, honesty and frankness about the surgical procedure.

I used Dr Bellanger for a third operation and second opinion after first operation didn't cure my problem. I am completely satisfied with the results of this operation and would choosr him again If I need another operation. I have nothing negative to say about him. After reading reviews written by others, I'm not sure we are talking about the same person.

I have been seeing Dr. Belanger for 2 years now. He and his staff are wonderful. He did my surgery and I would recommend him to my friends and family. He is very polite and knowledgeable. He spends a lot of time with you. He will not let you leave without fully understanding your spine problem and what is necessary to correct it. I am so thankful to have found him. I also love their new office.

Dr. Belanger was recommended to me by a friend who previously had spine surgery by him and she did wonderful! He was absolutely amazing as a doctor. Very professional and knowledgeable. I would recommend him to my own family. Thank you Dr. Belanger!

I was over charged, they do not have a table for x rays, I laid on the floor for the x rays and they lost them, they took x rays for 2nd time....I don't trust this place.
