Biography

As a Navy veteran, Dr. Stanko has practiced general dentistry in both community and hospital settings. His extensive experience and long-developed talent for improving smiles will benefit your entire family. Dr. Stanko completed his Bachelors in Pharmacy from Rutgers University then chose to attend the University of Pennsylvania, where he graduated with his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD). His extensive education also includes a residency certificate in General Dental Practice from Penn State, and a certificate in Facial Pain and Temporomandibular Disorders from New Jersey Dental School. In addition to his time spent in the Navy, Dr. Stanko has held several prestigious positions. He has served as Director of the General Practice Residency Program at Yale-New Haven Hospital and at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center. Along with his experience at Yale, he worked as the Clinical Director well know dental practices in Rocky Hill and Manchester Connecticut. Dr. Stanko has held past academic appointments too, including Adjunct Professor in Pharmacology at Seton Hall University and Assistant Clinical Professor, Division of Oral Medicine at New Jersey Dental School. Dr. Stanko has extensively lectured in continuing education programs on a wide variety of topics, including Dental Pain Disorders, Temporomandibular Disorders, and pharmacology. Dr. Stanko currently lives in the Wethersfield, CT area with his wife Melanie, his stepdaughter Madison, three birds, and two Dachshunds. In his free time, he is an avid music lover who stays active in his church’s choir and practices photography.
