Biography
Dr. Michael S. George is board certified in orthopedic surgery with subspecialty certification in sports medicine. He completed his undergraduate degree and medical school at Case Western University, where he also played linebacker on the football team. He then gained fellowship training in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine and Shoulder Surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Dr. George treats professional rodeo cowboys as a member of the Justin Sports Medicine Team and serves as a Course Director for the Annual Justin Sports Medicine Rodeo Conference. He has been a team physician for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, as well as for area high schools, colleges, and professional teams. Dr. George has done medical mission work performing total knee replacements in disadvantaged villages in Central and South America. Academically, he was a Clinical Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine, as well as a Clinical Instructor of Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Texas at Houston. His research has been published extensively in multiple orthopedic journals and he was recognized as one of the best doctors in Texas by Texas Monthly Magazine, as well as one of Houston’s Top Doctors by H-Texas magazine.
