I feel very fortunate to have been referred to Dr. Kaplan as the ophthalmologist to perform my cataract extraction. Dr. Kaplan and his very capable staff went to great lengths to educate me in regards to the cataract, the extraction process, potential risks, lens options, and costs. He made recommendations regarding lens options, but also encouraged me to do additional research to ensure that I was comfortable with my selection. He also did a wonderful job of explaining what I could realistically expect after the surgery in respect to my vision with each of the lens options. My procedure went off without a hitch and was handled with utmost professionalism. One week after surgery, my distance vision in my left eye was 20/20. Many doctors would have dismissed this as a very routine surgery. Dr. Kaplan truly gave me the time and attention that I required. I highly recommend Dr. Kaplan as a very talented, thorough, and empathetic ophthalmologist and surgeon.
