Waited forever for my visit. Basic exam. Then forgot to ask the Dr. about my eye drooping. Remembered at checkout. She wouldn’t let me go back in and ask him, She made me reschedule for another appointment. Whaaaat? It’s all about the money.

Dr G has been following my 85 yo mother with her AMD, cataracts, secondary cataracts and her glasses. He told her that there is nothing to be done for her macular degeneration except to expect decline in vision. He did refer her to an ophthalmologist a few years ago who also offered no options. After experiencing a huge decline in her vision over this past week, I went online and find that there are a multitude of Low Vision eye doctors who can help with specialized tinted lenses for the glare, adaptive devices for continuing activities (reading), vitamin regimen, appropriate eye gtts, etc., and their goal is not to "support decline", but to expect and support visual functioning at highest level possible. Because she really liked Dr. G., she was convinced that he wanted the best for her, but he prepared her for no hope and to just go with decline. I feel ashamed that I did not research sooner. Maybe she would been able to see like she did a year ago. Shame on Dr G.
