Dr Downs is Very knowledgeable and helpful. He really cared about what was going on with me and seemed to want to help. His assistant is great and goes out of her way to help patients get what they need.

Dr. Downs provided an incredibly unprofessional experience, and I do not trust him as a doctor. Beyond providing poor care, their office explicitly allows (practically encourages) bringing guns on site (I'm serious!), yet explicitly disallows perfume. Their priorities are disappointing and not representative of a doctor who is providing a positive mental health care experience.

Further, their office practices blatantly price gouging and lying about insurance providers accepted. I have filed an official complaint with Aetna. They charge over 4 times the "usual and customary" amount. Please do not provide them with your business.

I had good care and treatment with Dr. Downs back in 2011. I have seizures from an accident. He was helpful getting my meds fine tuned. What a relief to have a Migraine Preventative that was so helpful. One thing I noticed was that the doc did not look very alert or seem to feel well once. He shared with me that he also gets migraines and has/had "those kind of days" and I can relate to that. I traveled to Anchorage to see these folks because Dr Jessen in Soldotna had-I'll just say it- Jennifer and Angela on staff. Rude from the moment I walked in. Jennifer actually hung up on me and told the others that I cussed her. That was an outright lie. Angela would give instructions on paperwork and 5 minutes later deny what she said! Then she labeled me hostile.! OK I'll stop now because I should be saying this on Dr. Jessen's review page. My point is that Dr. Downs and staff were nice to me which is very helpful. I am going back soon.

Doctor Downs has been quite helpful to me over the past three plus years. I was previously plagued with migraine headaches prior to seeing him and he has helped me to get them under control with a combination of diet, exercise, and medicine. He is personable and friendly, and has been flexible and open to discussing my symptoms and treatment options. He listens carefully and allows me to participate in decisions about my treatment.

By staff I do not mean the receptionist. I take lyrics for extreme neuropathy and they (whomever other than than WD) make me feel like a drug seeker when I ask for refills. For me, Wayne is the best and I’ve known him for over 20, not as a patient. I don’t believe they gave him my messages.

There has clearly been a staff shake up in this office. Within 1 month both MAs and the receptionist were gone. Dr. Downs new MA Trish is the least helpful most disrespectful medical staffer I have ever met. Much needed prescriptions are overlooked and forgotten over long weekends and the expectation is that you will clean up her mess for her. She is highly judgmental and plain unprofessional. Dr. Downs himself typically runs late and is a bit to quick to resort to older medications even when told you have failed them in the past. The response times are mishandled by the inept staff that is kept. I will not return to this office and instead will pay to see a neuro specialist in Seattle.
