We've used him for 18 years and had nothing but great care for 5 of us using corrective lenses/contacts and one having general exams over the years. I was told by one eye specialist that he thought Dr. Caywood was the best optometrist in Utah County. Dr. Caywood even came in on a Sunday twice to check on possibly urgent problems we were watching and met me at the office of a retina specialist after one of those Sunday visits. Although something may not end up in an emergency, better safe than sorry in my opinion. He has followed our family through contact lens issues, lasik procedures, etc. He is soft spoken and gentle which could be nice for some children.

I have been seeing Dr. Caywood for 8 years. I have gone to both the Springville office and the office in Provo. He is the best eye doctor I have been to and I have worn glasses and contacts for 25 years. The prescription glasses I received from their office were more clear than any I had gotten before- the lab that they send them to really makes sure that the prescribed prescription is done exacly accurate in the glass. I have gotten glasses at costco that were way off the prescribed prescription because by law they can be off a couple of points and still say it is within the prescription. My younger son had some different eye disorders which he detected early and helped correct with patching and glasses. I recently asked about lasik and he said I was a great candidate for it and recommended a good doctor even though he would be losing me as a patient- I think he is great.

It looks like we had a very different experience at this office than the other reviewers. We were not at all impressed by the staff, who were a little inattentive (and one was quite rude). We got a (very) incorrect quote on our bill, and they didn't inform us until two months later. Very frustrating. Dr. Caywood himself seems all right, although he did send me to another specialist for a "possible problem" with my eye. He made it sound like I had eye cancer or something, but the expensive specialist told me that absolutely NOTHING was wrong with it. I personally wouldn't recommend this doctor, but it seems my experience might have been out of the ordinary.

Knowledgeable, great manner, no "rushed" feel...he takes the time to explain everything, double check, ask if you have questions. Very personable and professional. Very pleased with this experience!

I really enjoy going to Dr. Caywood. He is so detailed in his exams and I feel he really cares -and knows what he is talking about. I appreciate the way that he and his staff work together to ensure that my family and I are taken care of in the best manner possible. I recommend him to my friends all the time. It is important to feel like your doctor has your best interests at heart - more than just being a number or a dollar sign... he really cares and shows it by the efforts he makes in your behalf. Great doctor, great office, great location! Can't beat it!

Dr. Caywood is awesome! He is very thorough and helped me with my fluctuating vision and problems with contacts(dry eyes). I have a difficult prescription that other doctors have not been successful in correcting well. Won't go anywhere else again!
