Long one hour wait for both my first and follow up appointments. When I mentioned to Dr. Chiaro about waiting so long he told me they get busy and he’s “just one person”. A lame response since they control the scheduling of patients. Seems they overbook deliberately.
Equipment looks worn out and dirty.
Staff was courteous but appeared inexperienced. I wasn’t weighed and was instead asked what I thought my weight and height were. They also told me to remove my shoes and socks and walk down a hallway for x-rays and were surprised when I mentioned the hygiene issues of walking through a doctor’s offices’ carpeted hallways in bare feet.
One person was being trained to take vitals. My follow up visit was one week later and she was working on her own. She took my blood pressure then stood there staring at the counter before finally saying, “I guess I’m done” then left the room. Yeah, awkward.
Worst part of this experience was the bill I received. A steroid shot in each foot was $420.00! This was nothing special, a simple shot in each foot ended up costing me, out of pocket, $210.00 per foot. I’ve called two different billing departments and gotten nowhere with them. The standard answer is they have no control over the fees and how the problem is with the insurance company and what they did/didn’t cover. They seem to miss the whole point which is they shouldn’t have been charging so much in the first place. This is why healthcare is so expensive and prices continue to be out of control. Practitioners such as this charging ridiculous prices in the hopes the insurance companies will turn over and pay it. It ends up being the patient who takes the financial hit.

Dr Chiaro is a wonderful doctor! He is kind and caring and seems to genuinely want to help his patients. He will stick with you and make sure you are completely healed. He insists on follow up visits for diabetics to make sure that your feet are in the best shape possible. He has cared for many people I know and no one has ever had a problem with him. We all love him!
