The doctor will not give you a copy of your prescription but will walk you to the optical department after the examination. He will also attempt to peddle additional services/procedures offered by the 'Illinois Eyesurgeons'. You'll have to remind the person in the optical shop to give you the prescription. It is a federal law requiring the examining optometrist to give you a copy of your prescription.
