Dr. A will delete your review if she doesn't like it. I will continue to post the truth no matter how many times she tries to hide it. Dr. A is incapable of admitting mistakes or taking accountability when she does. She cares infinitely more about “being right” than she does about her patients; i.e. when a mistake is made on a prescription (which patients cannot write themselves) she will go to any length to put fault on the patient or the pharmacy. She has been writing my Adderall prescription for over 6 months (I’ve been on it for 15+ years) then refused to refill it for February. Dr. A said that I've been aware that I'm not allowed to have it and went further to say the refills, written by her, were a mistake by the pharmacy. I showed her my most recent bottle from January (pictures below) and she got angry, personally attacked me, and doubled down on it being mine and the pharmacy’s fault. I left and got the 6 month history of my Adderall from my pharmacist which shows she’s been writing it every single month. Absolutely nothing has changed from last month to today. I can't believe how it was handled nor how I was treated by an 'expert' on mental health. The entire conversation consisted of her telling me that I and the pharmacy are wrong, that I need to go to AA/NA, and other comments no care provider should say to a patient. I brought my mother to witness and here's her notes immediately following the ordeal:
"Made notes while the interaction with Dr. A was fresh on my mind. Thought they may be helpful as you prepare to meet with Dr. ******
1. Dr A was defensive and arrogant right off the bat. She never asked for your assessment of the facts or issues. Immediately lit into you when we walked in.
2. Dr A attacked you personally. In addition to repeatedly referring to you as inappropriate, she also questioned your character.
3. Dr A accepted zero responsibility for the fact you’d been consistently receiving Adderrall over this her signature. She blamed you, Star and Dr. Rama.
4. Dr A displayed no compassion for you in spite of you being visibly distraught. She said both that you needed to get your emotions under control AND that you needed to give your meds time to get your emotions under control. Both of those statements can’t be true, you've been on this combo for months.
5. Even though she said she’d informed you repeatedly and called Dr. Rama to say she couldn’t write Adderall, she couldn’t find any notes to that effect in your chart. She was surprised when she realized she hadn’t even seen you since October and wrote your adderall for 3 more months at that appointment.
6. She twice stated she’d been in trouble with the state about her prescribing habits. After the audits maybe Dr A is individually prohibited for some reason?"

The fact is she messed up. All the paperwork and documentation shows unequivocally she messed up; yet rather than admitting it or acting like a doctor to help fix it, she was ugly, rude, and completely disrespectful. She showed her true colors and the comments she made were the opposite of what a good, caring, mental health professional would say. This experience has completely changed my outlook on her care; now looking back at it, I never had an appointment over 15 minutes and she always said I was doing/improving well. Extremely counter to everything she said about me today (when she hasn't even seen me since October).I pray no one has the same experience; I’ve always needed good mental health professionals and I know how hard they are to find; I thought I'd found one in Dr. A but did not.

She is now located at Cornerstone Counseling Center and I have been so happy with her move and her new location. The staff at her new location are so nice and helpful. She continues to be a great doctor who actually listens to me and does not give me too much medicine!

For years I have seen different Psychiatrists and have been displeased by all of them. I felt like I was doomed to feel bad. It seemed like they never really listened to me when I was explaining how I was feeling and I was just another number to them. They'd ask me a few questions like how are you sleeping, how are you eating are you still taking your medication and that was about it. They never showed any signs of being compassionate or sypmathetic. and then they would send me on my way. On occassion they would change my medication but I never felt great until I starting seeing Dr. Aeschlimann. Dr. Aeschlimann is so compassionate. She has been my Psychiatrist for less than one year and I can not express how wonderful I feel. I am happy, energized and motivated. I don't remember the last time if felt this good. I am so impressed with her that I wanted to take the time to right a review. It's amazing to me that in the short period of time that she has been treating me she figured out what types of medications would work for me. I highly recommend her. I wish I new about her years ago. She truly is a God sent.

I am 26 years old and have been seeing psychiatrists for various conditions since I was 9 years old. I have been diagnosed with depression, ADHD, and anxiety for the majority of my life, up until the past 4 years. During that past 4 years, I was wrongly diagnosed by two different psychiatrists with having Bipolar (oddly, those doctors used to be in practice together.) I KNEW I was not Bipolar, Ive struggled with mental health problems most of my life and have been on just about every medication there is. I KNOW what works for me and I pleaded with my past doctors to listen to me. I recently fell into a heavy, medication- induced depression where I truly feared for my life. In tears, I begged my doctor to help me get off the numerous medications he had prescribed me. He told me to find another doctor....and I did. Doctor Sofia TALKED to me and LISTENED to what I had to say! I told her my entire psychiatric history, and by the end of my first visit she told me I was far from being Bipolar. She agreed I was over medicated, and thought a cocktail of mood stabilizers was in no way necessary. She told me I likely had PTSD, general depression, and PMDD. I cried tears of joy and left her office with a simple script for a low dose SSRI. I have my life back thanks to Dr. Sofia and I am beyond grateful for her help. If you feel you have been wrongly diagnosed, I highly recommend Dr. Sofia. She does not use questionnaires to diagnose you...she talks to you and bases your diagnosis by what you tell her instead of how you answer a specific questionnaire.
