I have been going to Dr Maeder for years and have only praise for him. He is direct, not rude.
I have moved to Las Vegas and heard he is going to retire end of year. I wish him the best

I had a total thyroidectomy in 2008. Surgeon recommended Dr. Maeder. I have never met a more condescending physician in my life. And I am also in the medical profession. I fired him and moved on. I would never recommend him to anyone.

My personal physician referred me to Dr Maeder. I think Dr Maeder was very thorough in his examination of me, one of the best physical I have had. I found him to be polite and caring. Told me that I was going to be given another blood test on my way out of office and that he would call me the next day with the results. Next day, he personally called me and gave me the results and gave me his diagnosis and would put my prescription in mail. And asked if I had any questions, please call him personally. I am very grateful that he is my endo. I have recommended him to several of my friends and clients and they have all been very happy with his service to them. I do not believe these comments on here that are negative...apparently they should see a doctor that deals with mental issues. Thank you

Dr. Maeder was EXTREMELY cold and rude to me. He acted as if my problems were only in my mind. He told me that based on my bloodwork there is nothing wrong with me and he didn't know what he could do. When I asked if he could look further into my thyroid, he said that the tests my family doctor ran were the same tests he would run, even though after research, I knew that an endocrinologist should be able to look further than just the basic test. Complete waste of my time and money, I would highly recommend to NEVER see this "internist."

Very poor communication. Receptionists do not relay messages correctly. I was told to make an appointment to go off my medicine. I did. She told the doctor I went off the medication on my own, which was false, hence my making an appt. I was then told by her over the phone that I didn't need to see him and could handle the change over the phone. So I cancelled the appointment, but she never did! I had to cancel it with another receptionist. It is impossible to speak to the doctor over the phone without having an appt. He refused to return any phone call I requested after his receptionist had confused my chart and informed him I was no longer taking medication, which was not the case! Instead of calling me over the phone to discuss the matter in brief, I received a call from another receptionist stating he wanted me to make an appointment. This is such poor behavior for a doctor. One simple phone call would have resolved any issue. Now he has lost a patient.

Very limited knowledge in my opinion. It is take this and in this amount, forever, and that is all you can do. Does not listen to patient. I agree he should retire.

Dr Maeder dismissed my hyperthyroidism as minimal and told me that I wouldn't feel any better if he treated it or not. I asked him if he should do a new scan of my thyroid to see if the nodule I had 12 years ago has gotten any larger...he said no and insisted that it had not. I got a second opinion and am having my thyroid removed in 3 weeks because I have not one small nodule, but 3 large ones. My surgeon says there are signs that it could be cancerous so we are removing it. There is an elevated risk that I could lose my voice and have to get a tracheotomy to breath as a result of the surgery. I feel Dr Maeder was negligent and just didn't want to deal with my problems. I would NOT recommend him to anyone.

I feel as if Dr. Maeder judged me from the moment her walked into the room. I feel his bedside manner was horrible and was quite rude. Though he did proper diagnose me as not having he condition my primary doctor thought I had. I am a bit over weight but I felt the could have been more considerate instead of making a point of telling me how heavy I was every 5 minute. I feel he judged me because of my weight. I felt he was very condescending and I will not be returning to his office. There is another Dr. 45 minutes away and much nicer than he is. I do not recommend him unless you don't mind being judged and talked down to.

Dr. Maeder is unable to think outside of the box. His knowledge was extremely limited, and he made decisions based on very basic bloodwork, going strictly by the book. If you have symptoms that do not exactly fit a disease he will not be able to diagnose you or help you feel better. He also goes strictly by TSH to disgnose thyroid, even though multiple websites say you may have thyroid problems with TSH being in the "normal" range and T3 and/or T4 being wrong, especially if you have the symptoms. His bedside manner was terrible; he is very rude. It seems to me he just needs to retire if he has no interest in continuing his education, which it is obvious he doesn't.
