Was referred because I had a bleeding hemorrhoid. No exam; asked questions only. I have NO family cancer history or other risk factors; he still recommended a colonoscopy (I'm 47). I figured I'd do it becuase I'm almost 50. He said he found 3 small "pre-cancerous" polyps, but the lab report only covered 2. (Why remove 3 and only analyze 2?) Lab reports said mine were adenomatous polyps - the most common kind. He wants me back for a follow-up colonoscopy in 1 year. I researched it on the web and EVERY source I found said that the WORST case for having 3 (?) such small polyps is to have another colonoscopy in 3 years, not next year. I don't trust this man. I came in for bleeding hemorrhoids and after the colonoscopy I got a prescription for Preparation-H. He'd determined the cure (colonoscopy) before he met me and never examined me. Now he wants more insurance money (and my co-pay) in 1 year vs 3. I'd get a second opinion before I let this man touch me.
