Dr. Elhaj prescribed benzodiazepines for my son’s anxiety without much explanation. And when it was clear my son was abusing the meds, did Dr. Elhaj address the situation? Maybe try something else? No, he prescribed MORE. After attempting to contact Dr. Elhaj to discuss the situation directly, i got nowhere. So I showed up at his office and demanded to speak with him. He told me he couldn’t speak to me about my son’s case any longer, as my son had recently turned 18. I agreed but told him if he chose to ignore the fact he’s over-prescribing meds (highly addictive meds), I would report him. He continued anyway.

My son quit seeing Elhaj on his own and has learned other methods to control his anxiety...prescription/drug free.

Beware of Elhaj, he’s dangerous.

Dr Elhaj spends the time to listen, evaluate and find the balance of resources, tools and medication for me to thrive, not just survive. I highly recommend him.

Dr Elhaj diagnosed me with PTSD and assisted me and my family in dealing with it. I had seen two doctors previously and got on the wrong medications. It took me six months to get of xanax and it was really hard but I feel I'm more alive now than I have ever been.

Dr Elhaj is unprofessional, inexperienced, and unethical. He diagnosed me incorrectly and declined to discuss diagnosis with me. Prescribed detrimental medication.

Always professional, but obviously sensitive, empathetic and insightful. Acutely intelligent. Plainly, he is extremely knowledgable in psychiatry and related pharmacology. His caring, proactive approach has helped me achieve an outlook on and quality of life that keeps me among the living with an interest in a productive future. Dr. Elhaj is an outstanding physician.

He was right on the ball---the best I've ever come across. He really listens and I know he really cares. He helped me get back on my meds (which I was off of for quite some time). He makes good eye contact and does not rush a patient through the appointment. It's almost like the patient-doctor scenario that I've heard about from long ago. He is thorough, punctual, and kind and sensitive. I wish all of my other psychiatrists (and all family practice MDs) could treat a patient like he does.
