I was referred to this Doctor by my surgeon. The information Doctor John Greisman gave me was helpful but when I was asked him a question about it in a nice way he yelled, saying, "Didn't you hear what I just told you!" I was shocked with his behavior. He told me there's nothing that he can do about my problem. He then told me, "You can look around and find a wacko Doctor," insinuating that a different medical opinion was obviously wrong. I was uncomfortable with his rudeness and professionalism. I'm not going to him again!

Let's face it, no one likes to go to a urologist. Yet, Dr. Greisman helps you face the embarrassing uncontrollable dribbles, the prostate pains, the swollen testicles, with a sense of humor, honor and professionalism. He's the only doctor I've seen attend a sonogram session to find the true cause of a problem (in my case, swollen testicles). Even the sonogram technician was impressed, as she had never seen a doctor attend a sonogram before. He cares about his patients, in an area of our anatomy most of us don't want to think about, or deal with. Yet, he's the one who will be there to save your life should there be something life-threatening in that area to deal with. If you have a problem with your plumbing, Dr. Greisman is a caring doctor who I'd recommend to anyone. But please remember to call in the afternoon as he's usually working in surgery during the morning hours.

Dr. Greisman took the time to explain all aspects of the simple office procedure and answer all my questions and concerns. I would definitely recommend him in his specialty. Remember that following a doctor's instructions exactly will produce better results than ignoring some steps.

****. I've lived in the U.S. for over 30 years and received my masters at the University of Washington. I know I still have an accent but I know how to speak English. I also know on the phone, it's hard to understand what people say sometimes, even a native speaker. But he tells me to LEARN English! He needs to learn some manners. Will never go back!

My right foot has swollen. I was lightheaded. My wife measured my blood pressure, - it was 208. In the emergency room a catheter was inserted to drain urine. My prostate, which was very enlarged, caused retention of a lot of urine in my bladder, and my kidneys were failing, which caused swelling of my right foot and the abnormal blood pressure. A couple of days later Dr. Greisman performed the surgery to reduce my prostate through a small cut in my abdomen, and two days later I went home. A week after that he removed the stitches. My blood pressure is once again 120/80. Because I did not have medical insurance, I got a discount. In old times people were dying from enlarged prostate and related problems. Dr. Greisman truly has saved my life. With over 40 yrs of experience, he is the best urological surgeon in SD county. I paid around two thousand bucks, but I still owe one million thanks. I thought he was great. I am 35 and had a CT scan after another doctor thought I had an inguinal hernia due to pain in groin. From the CT scan it was learned that I had 2-3 cysts in my kidneys. I was a bit nervous not knowing exactly what a cyst in the kidney meant (I understand other types of cysts). I did bring my disk with me and the Dr. first dealt with my supposed hernia and determined that it wasn't. He then explained what a cyst in a kidney was, and then took me over to the computer monitor to show me the actual CT scan. I appreciated this and appreciated his explanation. He was also kind enough to answer another question about a medication I was taking even though he was scheduled for surgery within that hour.

I had prostate cancer (GS = 5)and John saved my life. Current PSA=0.1 He is the best urological surgeon in the San Diego area, and that is not just my opinion. I got a lot of opinions from other urologists and oncologists before I decided to trust John. I have never had a doctor I liked or respected more.

I had a terp operation performed on me by Dr. Greisman and the preliminary work leading up to it. I found him direct but honest. He is not a hand holder but is a very competent Doctor. He also performed a operation on my 72 year old father and my dad was also satisfied by the results and care he go from Dr. John. He is quirky but not in a negative way.

Didn't even examine me on the first visit, didn't listen to my description of complaints, indicating he thought I was a 'whining, hysterical woman' and he wouldn't put up with it. Admittedly I wasn't at my best after suffering for almost 3 months with a lodged kidney stone which he misdiagnosed as vaginal prolapse. He's an arrogant, misogynistic, unpleasant little man and if you can get into any other urologist at all, don't go to him.
