Arrogant and no compassion. Cold and rigid. Will charge you a 75.00 fee if u miss an appointment due to a declining mental health condition. Awful experience, I feel worse now than before.

The other reviews sum up Sumner well. If you plan to be a patient what you need to do is run the name Sumner though the LA medical board data base for past actions like relapsed substance abuse or having medical license suspended indefinitely. He is an arrogant doctor who passes the buck, blaming the hospital and staff for his own shortcomings. He treats family members with distain. He needs to take a course in bedside manner.

This doctor does not care about his patient's or the way his office staff treats them! The people working there are miserable and unpleasant. They are so unprofessional and nasty. I will NEVER return to this place!

Treated my parent in a inpatient facility for 19 days to adjust meds that were no longer working. Would NOT meet with family with plan of treatment!!! Left facility on same meds she went in! Had to get another Dr. to treat her after her release!!!

I am a new patient to Dr. Sumner and I really enjoyed him as a doctor. However, making an appointment and dealing with the office staff is a different story. When you call the office they put you on hold for almost 10 minutes. When I voiced my unhappiness with being put on hold TWICE I was confronted by a very rude/unpleasant office representative who offered no apology or explanation. When I got there is person, I was met with the same attitude from the office staff. They are very unpleasant and they do not know how to handle patients. It is very disappointing because the doctor is great but his staff is HORRIBLE. Unfortunately for that reason, I will find another doctor to go to. I suggest he gets new staffing if he wants to stay in business....

He is the worst doctor that I have ever dealt with. If he doesn't like what you have to say or ask he starts to become irate. If you need anything that isn't inside of your 15 minutes you're out of luck. I have no idea why he chose the field that he is in because he obviously does not care about helping people.
