I had a baby with this group and it was the worst experience of my life. They refused to allow me an epidural until it was too late and it was botched. Dr Schaefer made it clear she didn't want to be there by not answering phones calls and showing up as I was screaming and the nurses were yelling at me not to push. She literally showed up just to catch the baby then bitched and whine about cutting her shower short and having to come with wet hair. Considering she had hours of notice and knew I was in labor all night, the knowledge that she took her sweet time just really pissed me off. I hate her. At the followup I assumed she would apologize but she was just as bitchy, cold and mean then too.

I will never, ever go to her and her practice ever again. Nor would I recommend them to my worst enemy.

-- The standard phone greeting at this practice is "OB-Gyne Associates, please hold..." with a wait time between 5-30 minutes! -- Follow-up calls for lab results are non existent. I've had to call them each and every time after patiently waiting for their call that never came. -- In office delays are a given. Over the last 15+years that I've been going to this practice I've probably been seen on time just a handful of times. Not to mention how many times I've arrived early, or worse yet, been half dressed in the exam room waiting on the doctor only to find out that the doctor has been called away for an "emergency" delivery. -- These doctors also frequently push services/procedures on you without really covering all options. -- The proof is in the pudding. Check out a quick internet search on yelp, health grades, etc I've stuck with this practice too long and I wish I'd have left a lot sooner.

I went to Dr. Schaefer when needing advice on some problems with heavy & painful periods. I was a new patient, & one would assume that questions would be asked regarding my past, since she wasn't familiar with me. No past or present medical questions were asked. She was very hasty & seemed to be in a rush. After an examination, she located a "softball size" fibroid. After placing me on birth control, to what she advised would be the cure, she scheduled me for a round of ultrasounds. About a week later, I had to follow up many times to gain insight on the results from the ultrasounds. After finally reaching her, she advised over the phone to follow back around in 6 months, no info on fibroids provided. No improvements and it was virtually impossible to contact her. I finally saw a new doctor, who advised that a Laparoscopy or Myomectomy is needed ASAP due to the severe increase in size due to the incorrect treatment methods she provided me. Unbelievable that she's allowed to practice.

All through my pregnancy, I was uncomfortable with this group of doctors. The wait times were long. The staff was unfriendly. Since the office is within the hospital, the doctors can get called away for a delivery or a c-section. There are times when they have left me half dressed in the exam room because the doctors got called away, and no one informed me. Sadly my labor and delivery itself was badly mismanaged. Dr. Schaefer hardly communicated with me the risks and complications that I was going through, and my child was born with severe respiratory distress because of repeated heart decelerations during labor. She had to be emergency transported to another hospital where she fought for her life for days. Dr. Schaefer herself is cold and unfriendly. The only doctor I liked in this group was Dr. Nakanishi. I am pregnant again, and I will never ever visit this practice or these doctors because I care for the life of my unborn child. I would not recommend this group to anyone.

This doctor was beyond unprofessional. She asked no health questions and did not even complete the appointment! She and the only other doctor in the office were called away for emergency surgery, and nobody informed me for 30 to 40 minutes while I waited half naked in an exam room for a pelvic. When I was told I had to wait an hour more for her to return to the office, I asked for another appointment date. Was told by her staff nothing was available for another month, and no apology was offered. Awful experience and would not recommend her to anyone. Also, the office seemed dirty and not well organized. Buyer beware.

I found her rushed, dirty, and basically uninterested in anything I had to say. I would never recommend her to any of my friends, in fact I would discourage my family and friends from going to her. Horrible Physician.
