I have been dealing with this office for about 5 years now and have only been able to see Dr. Murphy twice. I usually end up seeing the Nurse Practitioner (who is wonderful). Dr. Murphy is impossible to get an appointment with for an annual check up.

This doctor performs VERY painful surgical procedures in his office without numbing or using local anasthetic. When i asked about the pain prior to the procedure he just looked away, and did not properly inform me. He left me undiagnosed. I later found out that i had a uterine polyp causing excessive bleeding. Dr. Murphy did not even schedule a follow up visit, nor did he diagnose me. The nurse was not very nice to me.. she told me to strip. A few months later, I went to another doctor who within minutes, diagnosed me and sent me for a D & C, using anasthesia and I was cured. i no longer suffer pain or excessive bleeding. Dr. Murphy's response was, like oh well, that's the way we do things.. He didn't even sincerely apologize to me. Pain is not something that is misunderstood. I am glad that I went to another doctor and got cured. I would not recommend this doctor for a polyp or other similar type of medical problem. However, He was prompt in seeing patients.

Dr. Murphy is by far my most trusted Ob Dr. He helped my husband and I through the worst outcome and finally through one of the most miraculous. He speaks to you like a person and will give you the straight facts in a way that is understanding and you always leave feeling positive. He never rushes you out of your appointments and always encourages you to ask questions about any concern you may have. I live far from the practice and willingly drove over an hour to make the office appointments at Abington Primary Womens Healthcare throughout my pregnancy. My only regret through this pregnancy is that he may not be the doctor that delivers our child. If you are looking for a Doctor who will listen, offer sage advice and not push you into anything you may not be comfortable with Dr. Murphy is the one for you. I can not say enough positive things about him, he is wonderful and I am thankful everyday that we have been in his care.

Dr. Murphy delivered my first baby and was the absolute best! He was knowledgeable, patient, compassionate, understanding, and made me feel totally at ease. He is down to earth and you can discuss your concerns with him. I cannot say enough kind words about this man.

Dr. Murphy is by far the best physician I have ever met. He has the most wonderful bedside manner and always made me feel very comfortable. I could ask a million questions, and he would smile and say "what else?". He never rushed and always had plenty of time for me. Unfortunately, the office staff and some of the nurses at his practice (A.P.W.H.G.) were AWFUL to me, so much so that I had to leave. I was so sad to leave Dr. Murphy's care but I could not put myself through that again. At the most awful time in my life, in the midst of a miscarriage, the staff were so rude to me. Not just unsympathetic, but MEAN. They refused to let me speak to Dr. Murphy and would not give him my messages. One nurse in particular made several horrible comments to me and there was no way I could stay with this practice for my next pregnancy. If Dr. Murphy ever goes to a different practice, I would love to be his patient again.

Dr. Murphy has to be one of the greatest doctors that I have come into contact with (and I am a nurse) His bedside manner is great, and when I was pregnant he always made time to answer questions. He always took every concern very seriously. Really great guy- too bad he wasnt working the day I delivered!

I met Dr. Murphy for the first time during my 39-week pre-natal visit. I was in bad shape, and after talking to me, he convinced me to go over to the hospital to get checked out (despite my protests of not being ready for that). Turned out I had a very dangerous complication and had to be delivered within 24hrs by emergency c-section. I'm very grateful that he didn't just write off my pain as "normal pregnancy stuff" -- even though I had been willing to do just that!

Kindest and most competent doctor I have ever known. He takes his time and makes me feel at ease and well cared for. I have been a patient of his for 7 years and always recommend him to family and friends. I wish more docs were like Dr. Murphy!
