The office staff is terrible. They are always rude, and the nurses are the most uncaring and insensitive I have ever encountered. Absolutely no bedside manner. I liked Doctor Zitman as a general practitioner, until I developed problems he (or really another doctor who I had to see in lieu of Dr. Zitman on an emergency basis) simply could not help me with. Dr. Z did give me the name of a doctor who specialized in my issues, but the staff never sent the referral when I asked for it. This happened four times! This, of course is after countless endeavors just to get one of the staff to answer the phone, not hang up after placing me on hold for over ten minutes, and when I did get someone, to have them actually be able to follow what I was talking about. I decided to change doctors, and need my medical records for the new doctor. I was told it would be $25.00 to copy them. No reason why.I even offered my own paper, and the woman on the phone laughed at me. Time to modernize with computers.

Staff anf staff's service are poor, but Dr. Zitman is friendly, warm, caring and most importantly is knowledgable and accurate in diagnosis.

I chose Dr. Zitman's office for my fist woman's appointment visit ever. Even though Dr. Zitman wasn't the doctor who was looking at my lady parts, the doctor that did didn't do anything to calm me down. Of course I was very scared and very nervous. The clamp was cold and it was just VERY uncomfortable. Whenever I call to get a prescription filled they are NEVER at their desk. I call at the most random hours thinking SOMEONE has to be there, but neither of the receptionist's are at their desk and when you finally do get a hold of them, they are never friendly. Ever. This doctors office tainted my first experience and I haven't been back. For experience, they are doctors, I would hope they are knowledgeable.

I entered "dr zitman bad doctor" on Google & was not surprised to find this site! He's been my primary care doctor for less than a year, but I've already had two terrible experiences. After being diagnosed with infertility by my obgyn, I was referred to a reproductive specialist but had to go through my primary care physician. No big deal, my OB assured me that this specialist is covered. Dr. Zitman's office submitted the form wrong (my HMO covers some treatments and not others) and my referral was denied. After sending an appeal letter to the HMO it was easily covered, since Dr. Zitman's office submitted it wrong. Next, it turns out I'm not immune to rubella and I need a vaccination. Dr. Zitman's office doesn't do rubella vaccines, they'll need to refer me to a travel clinic. But they need to see me first. I asked for the medical reason they need to see me, but they have none, just need an appointment(read:$$), they have no interest in my or my potential unborn babies health!

A friend recommended Dr Zitman. I just moved here from the City and needed a new doctor. It took TWO HOURS of waiting before he saw me. The waiting room was filled with people, all waiting to see him which tells me the appointment desk just says "yes" all the time and doesnt manage timing well. When I finally met the guy, he was really very nice and kind, but I would not go back againn due to timeliness and management of appointments.

i had to force him to give me a test for hepititis B, and after showing indication for the virus, he didn't do anything else for me. i attended other seminars about the disease before I realized I had to do regular checkups and monitor my liver. Zitman has no clue what to do. he's old and doesn't care what happens to his patients. he basically mis-diagnosed me and probably won't have done anything until i nearly die. don't u think its better to have proper maintanence treatment than wait till its too late? He's a really really bad doctor.

I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Zittman and arrived on time. I told the receptionist that I live 5 minutes away .. please let me know if he is running late and I will come back later. They told me that he's not running too late and to stay. After well over half an hour, they ushered me into an examining room and asked me to wait. I waited over half an hour and they told me it would be soon, just wait. Then I saw the whole staff starting to gather in the breakroom with fresh corned beef sandwiches. I knew that it was unlikely for anyone to pass up fresh sandwiches to examine me. It was already 12:30. I put on my clothes and told the reception that I'm hungry too and please give me my file, I am not coming back. I did have a checkup with Dr. Zittman before and he was very personable and appeared to give a reasonably thorough checkup. Unlike the previous respondant, I was completely healthy so I probably would have been satisfied with my checkup anywhere.
