I deeply regret taking my child to Dr. Child's. Unbeknownst to us parents he was giving my 11 year old daughter several monthly high dosage ( 22.5 mg) of Lupron that was only FDA approved for men with prostate cancer. We were not aware that it wasn't recommend for her gender or condition and we trusted that he was doing the right thing. My daughter was completely healthy prior to these injections and now at 15 she has fibromyalgia and severe TMJ issues. She should have never been given such a high dosage. Now we are extremely concerned about her fertility. She will now have to homeschool the rest of her high school years and is giving up on her dream of being a singer because she is in pain 24/7. I called Dr. child's and he doesn't seem to think her health issues are related to Lupron even though I'm finding out now that there are tens of thousands of other Lupron victims with the exact same problems. He should have his license removed immediately!

Dr. Childs and his staff of professionals are incredible. I have never been so happy with a doctor. My 16 year old daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in April and in the following weeks Dr. Childs had her call him at 5am every morning (6am on weekends) while she was getting ready for school so he could adjust her insulin for the day. This went on for nearly three weeks. I never thought that I would meet a doctor of this caliber. Not only is Dr. Childs a great doctor, he is an amazing human being. My wife and I are very impressed with Dr. Childs. We are so grateful that he is our daughter doctor.

Dr. Childs is the best doctor we have ever been to. My daughter was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes in December 2000, and Dr. Childs has been her physician ever since. He is knowledgeable, compassionate, and extremely patient. He always returns my calls, day or night, and I know that he truly cares about my daughter and her health. This disease would be much more difficult to manage if we did not have Dr. Childs by our side every step of the way.

This Doctor should NOT be practicing medicine! He has no idea what he is doing and my son nearly DIED because of him. He tinkers, guesses, and tries to tell you that there is nothing wrong!

Dr. Child's remain inadequate as a knowledgable pediatrician. My twins saw him as their pediatrician from birth. The doctor was concerned about my daughters cranium being too large and mishaped. To make a long story short, he ordered an MRI and an X-ray of her head. Every month we were doing something else. They were born in April and in December he still didn't know what was wrong. Instead of him referring us to the Pediatric Neurologist at RMC, he continued to order tests, that were useless. As her mother, I took her to a different pediatrician at RMC, who immediately walked me over to the Pediatric Neurologist onsite. He diagnosed her upon site with having craniosynostosis, which is when the bones in the head fuse together too soon. One look and he knew. My daughter should have had surgery for this at 3 months, but instead she had it at a year old, and had to have another at two because Dr. Childs waited too long. I don't know if it was ego, but his service was inadequate.
