This is nothing that has to do with Dr. Powers (he can be great for all we know), this is in regards to his staff and nurses within his office. The first time I called to make an appointment for my boss the nurse on the line was rather short when asking for her information, as I did not have all the requested information I called back that same day to give her the information needed as well as to confirm the appointment and she seemed a lot nicer and answered a few questions. A few weeks passed and I had to call back to reschedule for later in the month due to her being ill and being in the hospital a few nights ago so I had to clear her schedule. When I called back the lady on the phone was very nice and laughing (it was a great experience) once the rescheduled appointment was made unfortunately and regretfully the SAME day I had to switch the appointment again due to scheduling conflicts. The first nurse I spoke to instantly transferred my call to another to another nurse who the rescheduled the appointment somewhat politely and a few seconds before the call was complete she said something over the line (not realizing it was directed towards me) I asked her to repeat that one more time since I honestly didn't not hear her comment. She then repeated that if I was going to have to reschedule again that my boss would need to contact them herself and that she will not be able to change the appointment no matter what. Taken aback by this remark and honestly very confused I asked her where this was coming from since I was rescheduling the appointment well over a month in advance- she then said "I am just like you the massager" I then requested to know who gave you permission to say that to a NEW patient and I asked to speak with the pervious nurse she then said "like I said before there is no need to kill the messenger, so we will see you at your appointment". Well at that point I really wanted to cancel the appointment on the spot, but because I did not have another appointment set up with a different doctor I could not cancel until the next day. Once I scheduled her at another office I called back this morning- and I'm assuming I got the same nurse as yesterday because she immediately transferred me to another nurse in the office. Once he got onto the line I said I would like to cancel her appointment I gave her name and said to be honest I am canceling her appointment because the nurse on the line yesterday was really rude and disrespectful and I would never send my boss who is a new patient into a hostile doctor's office his response...."PERFECT, WE WOULD LIKE TO CANCEL HER TOO (and hangs up on me)!"
I have NEVER come across a situation EVER in my life. I have never felt more disrespected and so belittled when talking to a place of business. I mean who runs an office like this? I hope Dr. Thomas receives this comment and discusses this with the staff in his office- I understand that we are all here to do our job but the lack of customer service and consistent attitude with the nurses on the phone to a brand new patient is disgusting to me and I am so glad this side of the office was shown before she even stepped foot into that office- I WOULD RECOMMEND THAT YOU DO THE SAME!!
