I was a client for over 10 years and recently my dad became ill and passed and I could not afford my prescription, so I asked for some samples to hold me over for a while for high blood pressure, because I was obviously very stressed. The office refused unless I came in for an appointment (I was there less than 6 months ago). I explained that I could not afford an appointment, and could they just give me a month supply or bill me for the appointment, and they said no. Given the situation and the fact that I have been seeing Dr. Tawa for 10 years, It is appalling how I was being treated! I complained about how I was being treated, so to make the office even seem even less compassionate and heartless (sad given he is a heart Dr.!!!, I was sent a letter stating that since I did not like the service, I was no longer welcomed at the office. There was no sorry for your loss of your father or anything. DO NOT GO TO THIS OFFICE, HOUSTON IS FULL OF OP RATED CARDILOGIST!!!

Wait times are over an hour just to see the doctor. The staff members are rude and inconsiderate to patients needs. Unprofessional atmosphere and the staff isn’t very knowledgeable.

Staff & Dr unhelpful and not friendly! Wait time has been over 45 min with no apologies for the long wait. You do not always get seen by the Dr. the Pa sees you. Angie the PA is great and caring!

I have been a patient for several years. I'm unsure how the previous patients were treated, but my experience with Dr. Tawa has always been impeccable. I have a few heart problems and other medical problems, and his treatment of me as a person has always been very kind and appropriate.I would highly recommend this doctor to anyone.

I wish there was a negative rating. This doctor should not be allowed to practice medicine. He completely misdiagnosed me because of his smug arrogance and almost killed me.

Nice enough doctor, competent, but the man has NEVER been on time for one of my appointments with him. NEVER. The least I've waited is 30 minutes, the average time is 45 minutes, and I actually walked out today without rescheduling after an hour of waiting in that little exam room because I had to be somewhere. I'm seriously thinking of switching to my husband's cardiologist, he seems to value his patients' time a little more.

Rushed through stress test and told me I was "just out of shape" and that was the reason for my shortness of breath, etc. 5 months later I had a heart attack and quadruple bypass surgery. I'm pretty sure my arteries didn't clog 90-100% in 5 months.

Very professional and to the point. Very comfortable with his evaluation. I received reasonalbe recommendations for follow-up evaluations and treatment.
