I've tried to edit this review many times to adequately warn future patients so that they don't end up like me. Please be aware that this is my personal experience and take it as is. I have now spoken to several world renowned specialists who work with NBA, NFL, MLB players that all told me - with horror - that Dr. Brown has permanently injured me and I will have to live with impairment for the rest of my life due to his recklessness.

Please be aware of the procedure Dr. Brown performs and all of the steps involved and if its right for you before agreeing to it. His procedure BUTCHERS healthy tissues and reconfigures your core in a way thats irreversible and cut into the tissues of the spermatic cord and the testicle. I went in to Dr. Brown with lingering groin pain but being a functional athlete, a professional dancer of 12 years with nice tissue health and muscle tension and no testicular pain/normal testicles.

Since Dr. Brown's procedure, I have lost complete function of my core (see pictures). I have no lower ab tension, my right obliques from the pubic bone all the way to the ribcage don't fire at all, my rectus can't fire properly neither. The tension is gone and is not coming back. Not only do I have unbelievable impairment, but I now have bilateral testicle pain, CLEAR testicle disfiguration since he butchered the tissues that form the spermatic cord and support the testicle, erectile dysfunction, ejaculative dysfunction as well.

In 1.5 hours this procedure has managed to end my career, ended my sex life as well. And the worst part is I can't even get it ''fixed'' due to the damage he caused - its permanent. I will spend the rest of my life uncomfortable and impaired because this man wanted to make money at the expense of my well-being.

For him to even for a minute suggest that the reason I have a bad outcome is due to a mesh I had in my external oblique right below the skin shows he has absolutely no integrity and does not know what he's doing or knows but doesn't care. I have a list of people I've spoken to since and every single patient has had a similar horror story outcome as mine - I can't find a single patient that has had his ''sports hernia'' surgery that's even remotely okay.

There were multiple inconsistencies throughout this process. Dr. Brown told me my inguinal ligament was fine on diagnosis but once operating he proceeded to debride and free my inguinal ligament - something that was never agreed upon or discussed and the ligament is now just floating there not able to hold any tension or strength. He told me he wouldn't use permanent sutures and I woke up with silk (permanent) sutures inside of me per the operative report.

My left side - which had no previous operation - had a small 1-2 inch external oblique tear. Dr. Brown decided while I was under anaesthesia that he would give me a full blown procedure on that side as well, reconfiguring my abdominal wall and cutting into the tissues of my spermatic cord. None of this was discussed or agreed upon. I had beautiful core muscles and activation going in, I just had a lingering ache due to the small external oblique tear. I now have way more pain, no core function at all, testicular pain, and all the other things I mentioned. I've never been more uncomfortable and dysfunctional in my entire life and specialists are now saying I will never regain the function I lost due to this procedure despite Dr. Brown assuring me I would not lose any core function prior to the surgery. I now also have major knee issues, hip issues, and other issues I've never had in over 10 years of professional dancing.

There is no reason you should get your anatomy modified like this for an overuse injury. Let's be clear this isn't a repair this is mutilation.

I've been living this trauma for the past year and have thought about ending my life since this surgery was performed on me. I strongly advise you to do your research and see if this procedure is appropriate for you. Again this is my personal experience and outcome of this procedure, yours might differ.
