I honestly do not know how this man is still allowed to practice medicine. Never examined me, made an (incorrect) "diagnosis" based on asking me a bunch of questions like what town I was from and where I went to school. Literally the worst experience I have ever had seeing a doctor.

Dr. Toran spent a lot of time with me and was very helpful diagnosing and treating my problem correctly and conservatively.

Dr Toran was very rude and condesending. He was opionated and full of himself. My doctor sent me to see him because I was having unexplained neurological symptoms. He heardly examed me and told me that I had nothing wrong because I was diagnosed with depression in the past. His advise was to take more celaxa because my brain was diseased.

Dr. Richard Toran was requested to forward my medical records to me for another Dr. When my Dr. left their practice I was refered to Dr. Toran. I have had M.S. since 2000. Upon reciving my records I was stunned to read that my sexual prefrence was boldly stated in my records. Did not realize this caused M.S. He also refused to return the calls from my N.P. and omitting such and stateing only being awake 3 hours per day had no effect on my quality of life. In my opinion Dr. Toran has a God complex and has long since forgotten his oath of do no harm.

Dr Toran has not only a poor bedside manner, he is incapable of reading modern common exams such as MRIs and doesn't care about a patients stress or pain. He is indelicate, rude and absolutely inadequate as a Neurologist. I wish I had known better before going to see him. He refused to treat my pain appropriately and didn't want to refer me to the right specialist at the right time. The part that upsets me the most is that his lack of understanding on my particular problem, which as a neurologist he should have understood, cost me a great deal of time, pain and medical expenses.

Dr. Toran is beyond arrogant. Long story short, he doesn't tolerate you asking questions, he belittles you whenever possible, he is completely misleading, and he could care less about his patients. I went to him for Occipital Neuralgia. He put me on dangerous meds, and got so mad at him when I asked him a question about the side effects I was having, that he said he would no longer treat me because I was too impatient - even though I saw him once a month and never called him in between. He just can't be bothered. Now I'm stuck on dangerous meds with harmful side effects until I see another neurologist (which you know isn't for weeks) because it is too dangerous to wean off of them myself. He is by far the worst doctor I have EVER come in contact with!

My experience with Dr. Toran is exceptionally great. I am so happy with my interaction with him and because of my meeting with him, my faith in the health system, in general is restored. I did not feel a single problem as experienced by other reviewers here. I have back pain and the Brain MRI radiologist wrote a few things that I was necessitated to pay him a visit. I had very less waiting, pretty much on time. He patiently asked me questions about my history in very detailed manner, did the physical examination and then went ahead and looked at the MRIs. He showed me the MRI pictures on a large screen and explained some of it. In the end he gave me a clean chit and said wait and try to be less anxious as this is likely to be by stress. I liked his style, he is obviously very experienced but he took time to explain things and also told me that he could have more tests done but in his judgement it is not necessary at this time. I will update with the results. He is great!

Was referred for MS & told "you don't have MS, you've got a pile of MRI's. I decide who has MS & I base it on what I decide". Did perfunctory neuro test, fired questions at me which I couldn't keep up with & then ordered a number of lab tests that had already been done @ same hospital. His arrogance is truly incredible. If you ask questions, his answers are abrupt & made to belittle you. I have had excellent doctors at this hospital & cannot understand how he is still there never mind head of the MS clinic there. I would not see anyone in this practice because of him.

Dr. Toran is a pompous you-know-what. I was having symptoms of MS and was referred by my PCP. After keeping me waiting for an hour with no apologies, he told me, "You don't have MS." with no exam, questions, nothing- while he skimmed my chart. I asked how he could be so sure (as politely as I could) and his response was, "Because I'm a doctor. I'm not about to teach you 30 years of medicine in 5 minutes, nor are you able to understand." He may know neurology, but he needs to work on his social skills!
