This Dr. over medicated my spouse to point where he could not discern good from bad. beware of his all-knowing gentle nature. it is nothing more than a lure to get you hooked. If you need to be relieved of pain and want to become addicted to pain killers HE IS YOUR MAN!!! But if not stay away. He plays a role far superior to any mortal on earth. He moved for Palm Springs for this exact reason.

There are two sides to every story and the one being told by Pac Oaks to the clients are lies. I miss this Dr dearly. One of the greatest doctors I have had the please to know. Don't believe what BS Pac Oaks is telling there clients, there are two sides to every story

Absolutely The Best Physician one could ever find. Pac Oaks was a fool to let him go!

I found Dr Gaede to be an excellent doctor and willing to give the time necessary to deal with my health problems. I last saw him in July 2009. Then when I called for an appointment in January 2010, I learned he had left Pacific Oaks in October 2009. I feel it was very unprofessional of Pacific Oaks not to notify me that my primary doctor had left Pacific Oaks.

James Gaede is simply the best physician I have ever had, in over 50 years of living all over the U.S. He is deeply, nerdily knowledgeable about every condition, symptom, side effect, prognosis, and interaction I have come up with. He was always willing and interested to get into technical details, and always explained the "why" of diagnoses and treatment recommendations. His entire focus is on the facts of the case, and he brings to bear a formidable, integrative understanding and experience base. I am among those traumatized by his sudden departure from PacOaks, and intend to find him and follow him. it is true he rarely returned my calls, but as staff were always involved in that chain, I cannot ascribe cause. My concern is finding him again to continue the tremendous care he provided. Please, Jim, use the internet so we can find you...

I have been with Dr. Gaede for a year at Pacific Oaks until his sudden departure from that firm. Apart from Dan Bowers (who also left), Gaede is my favorite doc. I want a physician who has a keen curiosity, is a scientist, a philosopher, and a humanitarian. Dr. Gaede. This is a guy, who not only Mayo-trained, but has participated in Doctors without Borders--slogging around Bangladesh. Hippocrates would've loved this guy. He's the real deal, and if he's chosen to continue his practice, I'll totally jump ship and go there.

Dr. Gaede is extremely knowledgeable and compassionate. It appears he has suddenly left Pacific Oaks Medical Group. I suspect that may have something to do with conflicts with their management, but I don't really know. (They recently laid off his assistant.) I hope he keeps practicing in the L.A. area. I'd go back to him if possible, although I'm also angry that he quit without any notice, and right after changing my HIV medication regimen. Additional note: many people claim they don't like the staff at Pacific Oaks, but I have always found them friendly, helpful and responsive.

For one office visit, I was actually seen by Dr. Gaede's NURSE, instead of him! I finally got him to come into the exam room. He is nice, but always late and NEVER gets back to me with test results or questions (via email or phone). Too busy, I guess.

I started out thinking he was God's gift, but he stood me up 5 times in 4 months and is always being called away to VIP emergencies at Cedars Sinai hospital 5 blocks away. Tells you to "wait here" then office closes, building closes and you're left in the darkened lobby. He says he "looked all over" for you but that's at 4:30 a.m. from his boyfriend's place in "the desert". Pluses and minuses, but frustratingly difficult to pin down about anything. At first seems kind, compassionate, but later gets testy about how little Medicare pays for his services. I've actually been sent home (round trip 2-3 hours) without seeing him while he's on a phone "emergency". Makes you feel special but treats everyone the same way. After 31 years with practice, I got form letter dismissing me because of something about staff concerns (4 words after 31 years) and I'd been with him about 4 months. Scary! Though I'm trying to get back. Also not entirely trustworthy, but I won't go into that.
