Completely unprofessional and just plain whacky “doctor”. She likes to take new classes then decides that the meds I’ve been on since my 20’s for anxiety are no longer working, and wants to begin an immediate weaning even though I had no complaints about my meds! She talks about herself and her kids with their problems more than the patient. Her husband, who handles the billing and insurance, is pleasant enough, but also very rigid in his patient flexibility.
Kanchon Mahon is frequently late is has little to zero regard of patient”s time, but if you are late, you’ll be chastised and scolded by both of them.
GO ELSEWHERE. THIS PERSON IS A QUACK!

This woman needs to be reported to the board of medicine by every patient who has been MIStreated and MISdiagnosed by her. She was referred to my family member after a psych admit and told them they didn’t have a psyche disorder but had a thyroid disorder and prescribed meds for thyroid. NO lab data to back up diagnosis… second opinion Dr was appalled that this “dr” prescribed thyroid meds with normal labs and no symptoms. Dr Mahon spoke about herself and her problems to my family member during their phone appointments. UNACCEPTABLE. She also sent selfies on the cell phone asking if my family member liked her hair/thought she was pretty??!!!!???? NO DR SHOULD EVER EXHIBIT THESE BEHAVIORS. She needs to lose her license to practice medicine. Especially psychiatry. Disgusting.

This woman is certified crazy!! She pushed drugs on me at too young of an age (when I was impressionable), said I had illnesses that I did not, broke confidentiality agreements many times about myself and other patients, screams at me and other patients, and soooo many other things. I can’t stand this woman.

Dr Mahn is a legitimate health risk to her patients. She gives out medication in a wildly irresponsible manner, and when things go wrong, you can bet her staff will be ABSURDLY rude to you. I legitimately believe she is the one who needs to be in the patient’s chair, as she’ll talk about herself for the entirety of your appointment. If you legitimately care about your mental health, do not go here.

She is very unprofessional and talks about herself and her family during your entire appointment. When you have a difference with her she will yell at you and drop you as a patient. She also pushes thyroid medications and makes you feel bad if you don’t want to try them. I would not recommend her at all.

Worst customer service I've ever experienced in all of my life. Not only was he extremely rude. But, to someone who is supposed to be working with people with a mental illness, how he responded to the situation at hand could have ended someones life.. just beyond horrible. I've heard great things about the doctor, and this is very disappointing as I probably wont ever go to this office having had to deal with the receptionist. Dr Mahon, if you see this, please, for the love of Broome Countys mental health state, get your receptionist some training or get a new one

Doctor Mahon diagnosed me on my first visit and prescribed dangerous medication to me. When I nicely tried to explain that I may have given her the wrong impressio, she became angry. At my next appointment she accused me of abusing medications and quizzed me on everything I told her beforehand (e.g., how many hours do I sleep each night). When I had difficulty recalling my answers, she became extremely hostile. She told me that the medication I had been on would cause me scary problems, but, she was unwilling to prescribe an alternative. I have never been treated in such a way and I caution anyone who seeks her help. She made me feel even worse than I did before meeting her.

Dr Mahon is a wonderful Doctor she is kind empathetic and caring I was shocked by the
Fact that on our first visit she Listened she didn’t not throw a diagnosis at me and write a
Bunch of prescriptions Afrer nearly 40 years of thinking I was crazy I have a diagnosis
That makes sense I don’t want to pigeonhole her but if you are a minority she gets it I know
That with her help with her expertise I can be happy it’s take facing some hard experiences
In my life and it was painful and it hurt but with her help I am feeling better about myself
