I visited Dr Kerner every 6 months for 4 years. At least 2 years ago I began having light flashes in one eye which I reported to Dr Kerner because it can indicate a detaching retina. She poo-pooed it and said I didn't need treatment. I changed to a Dr who is head of Ophthalmology at Sentara and teaches at EVMS. He said he could see that I had a retinal tear causing the light flashes and that I needed laser surgery immediately to prevent a detached retina. Had laser surgery and no more flashes!

Staff very friendly; assisted with insurance informaion. Explained procedures and knew my past history. Dr very informative on my eye problems as well as discussion on cholesterol. Overall a great group!

Horrible! Can't see out of one eye now, but could when I first saw her. Only in it for the money.She won't admit the mistakes she made. I had 3 surgeries with her. So now I am legally blind. My new and a very prominent doctor said to me he didn't think I ever had what she said I had. Oh well, can't do anything about it now. Would not recommend her to anyone.
