Dr Karabinis repaired a hernia for me. I called 4 days later saying I was in horrible pain and requested more pain meds. He told me to go the the ER because no follow up with him was necessary. After 2 years of living in pain and having no quality of life, I finally found a surgeon skilled in removing mesh. Too small a piece of mesh was used and by time of removal 3 more hernias popped through. My removal surgeon repaired me without mesh and I have my quality of life back. He is a terrible doctor for letting me suffer in pain. He took an oath to do no harm, but he harmed me and left me on my own to deal with it.

Going into the ER and not planning on having Gallbladder surgery can be a bit stressful. Talking to a surgeon you have never met before even more alarming. However well reassured when speaking to the nurse and her explaining that he had recently done surgery on 2 of the Dr's in the hospital. More impressive was when I was home recovering and I had to call after hours with a concern, called back within 7 minutes of my call. Was very helpful and reassure me of what I needed to be concerned about.

He was insulting to me when I had acute appendicitis and after surgery also. I DO NOT LIKE HIM. Absolutely no bedside manner. He needs to be on the other side of the knife . .

He told my mother before surgery on her carotid artery that there was a chance she could have a stroke on the table. When I asked him what happens in the event that this does happen - his response was "She's screwed." I don't find that to be professional. Also - nobody at the hospital knew wheen he would be doing his "rounds." Again - unprofessional.
