He can be mean. Self absorbed. Dose not listen to you. He will spend the entire time telling you how he thinks he feel and will ask you questions but will cut you off after one to two words. I went in he gave me a panic attack and than told me I was not even nervous although I was shaking bad in my hands and legs. My blood pressure was high and heart rate was 120. He still denied i was nervous.

MHMR is the worst place to get treatment! They treat you like lab rats and when you finally are feeling better they drug you to keep you even crazy. He is a fraud!!!!

"God Complex" was the proper way to describe him. I've been seeing him for years and he told me I'm just lazy. He's obsessed with who I date and has made inappropriate comments about my appearance. I have to switch doctors. He asked me if I was suicidal and I said "yes" and he said, "Okay, see you in 8 weeks" without giving me any medication or offering me help! This man has issues of his own and isn't willing to help others in the way that he should. Please try to see another doctor if you can At this point, even if I see one that barely speaks English, I feel I'd be better off. Geez, any regular family doctor is willing to pass out anti-depressants, but he just can't be bothered to do so with me! He's made so many inappropriate comments to me, I truly feel like I should report him to the licensing board. Why bother to see someone that can't even take the most common of mental illnesses seriously? Love yourself enough to seek help from a doctor who cares, James Koban is NOT that Dr.

I have attended countless psychiatric apptmts with Dr.Koban. He is competent, compassionate, attentive,professional,learned and current w/ the literature. He is attentive to the interaction of psychiatric and physical health. He gives his patients his utmost attention (which is why he can run late) and loves his work. He is highly ethical and intelligent and is not capable of being manipulated. He knows his psychiatric diagnostic manual thoroughly. He works with his patients to devise the most appropriate treatment and medicine regime. Individuals seeking a physician who can be manipulated should not consider him for psychiatric treatment.

Has "God complex". Scheduled my appt for 6 weeks but only gave me 4 weeks worth of meds. When I called for the 2 weeks, he insisted I come in to see him even though I had pneumonia in late January. I said no, please tell him to drop me from patient list. Had no respect for my opinion. Heard what I said but would not listen to me. Thinks his opinion is the only one that matters.
