Dr. Kates would be great if she could slow down and show some compassion for her moms-to-be. She has been dismissive of my concerns on many occasions and I have left the office feeling overwhelmed and like I had been talked down to. I have met a few other women who shared my experience, not only with Dr. Kates, but with other doctor's in the practice. It's not a good dynamic when patients feel ridiculed if they have concerns and ask questions.

I was new to the practice and was apprehensive at first because I moved from another state with an awesome OB. But Dr. Kates is great, intelligent, and knows her stuff. She is a fast talker, but will take the time to address concerns if you ask her! My bf's mom recommended her and has been going to her for over 20 yrs. The only downfall is her secretary sucks, kinda. She is very nice, but NEVER answers the phone at the office. Dr. Kates however always calls back when she is paged and will contact you if needed. I am pregnant, and I may have to switch dr due to changing insurance. Im very saddened by this. I hope there is another doctor out there as wonderful as her.

Dr. Kates has been my GYN for 10 years. It takes almost 12 months to get a pap appt. When I delivered my second child, she disappeared at the hospital and they couldn't find her for an hour when I was fully dilated. I've left messages for call backs and they haven't been returned. I've waited anywhere from 30 min to over 90 minutes for appointments, even OB blood pressure checks. However, once she shows up, or once you're actually on the table with her, she's got great bedside manner.

I love this woman. I have been a patient since she was in residency. I truly love her and thank her for helping me have my two sweet babies.
