First, please forgive me for not reviewing Dr. Boyd years ago. Years ago, he botched my DIEP breast reconstruction surgery badly, I am have utterly debilitated and requiring pain meds every since. I was grievously surgically injured. When you are harmed by a plastic surgeon, other surgeons are hesitant to correct the problem and become involved. When you explain you are in constant pain in the most tender and sensitive areas of your body, it is simply your word and there is no way to prove your suffering. I do not know why, four years later, I languish without surgical correction. I feel it is unfair that I did not tell my story and I should have in order to potentially protect others who are choosing a surgeon. Dr. Boyd is a friendly guy. But in my honest opinion, he was an impaired surgeon when he did four surgeries in five months on me. I can probably never get him to make right what was done to me and how I have been left mostly bedbound due to the injuries sustained and requiring chronic pain control and my relationships have been altered. I hoped to get the surgical injuries corrected and move on with life. But sometimes things do not work out that smoothly, especially when dealing with the medical system. Lawyers would not step in to help me until I had the corrective surgery. I could not get the surgery because I did not have the money to stay living where I was being unable to work and now needing multiple more surgeries. I feel it is very important for me to report my experience in the hope I may save another woman from experiencing the terrible damage and horrific results I have. Please be cautious. Please protect yourself. Do not go into surgery with this doctor unless you have a clear and present support system of significant other or family to stand with you if things go wrong. Good luck.

My 18 year old daughter broke her nose 7 years ago. After years of breathing problems and being fearful of surgery, Dr. Boyd performed a septorhinoplasty 3 months ago. Her once crooked nose is now perfectly straight, beautiful and her breathing troubles are over. She only used 3 pain pills for the entire recovery. He was kind, the staff was wonderful and her only regret is that she didn't have done this years earlier. My gynecolocist had referred me to him telling me that "he has golden hands". She couldn't have been more on target. This doctor is a real pro.

Dr. Boyd performed an upper and lower eye lift on me and I have nothing but wonderful things to say about him. Six weeks later, people come up to me and tell me how great I look...new haircut, lost weight, etc. It's my eyes. Had I known how good I would look after this surgery, I would have done it YEARS ago. Best money spent USING THIS DOCTOR...NO PAIN EITHER!

I went to him to have a small scar removed from my forehead. I don't know exactly what he did, but he left me with an even bigger scar on my face. His after care procedures were very poor in my opinion. He prescribed me silicon gel and told me to massage my scar and that it would get better. I've talked to several dermatologists since then who've told me that this does nothing to make scars better. Please think long and hard before seeing him. He went as far as to blame me for the scar getting worse, saying that I have a tendency to form scars on my face. I have talked to several very talented and qualified doctors since then, who have told me that this is very unlikely to be the case.

Dr. Boyd is an exceptional surgeon. He performed the DIEP breast reconstruction for me, and the result is so good that my boyfriend wouldn't know that my breasts aren't real if I hadn't told him! He is kind and supportive. His office staff is terrific. I would recommend him without reservation. I was SO lucky to have him as my plastic surgeon.

Very unhappy with this doctor and his attitude when I developed complications that could have been prevented.

I cannot say enough about how thrilled I am to have had Dr. Boyd as my surgeon. I underwent a bilateral mastectomy, and Dr. Boyd did my reconstructive surgery. He is a kind, compassionate, meticulous, and truly talented surgeon. I was so confident in him that I never once had any doubts about my decision or what the physical outcome would be. Needless to say, I am extremely happy with the result. He is truly a magician. I think he was careful to manage my expectations (appropriately), but he far exceeded them! His office staff is efficient, friendly, and professional and goes far beyond the norm to make sure each patient gets the best care. I was so lucky to have such a wonderful physician.

I am in the final stages of reconstruction with Dr. Boyd and have been extremely impressed and satisfied. He is meticulous in his work; very calm, friendly, knowledgeable and experienced. The staff have gone out of their way to help with questions about medical procedures and insurance issues. I am in the medical field myself and would recommend Dr. Boyd and colleagues to my friends and associates. In fact, I would definitely return to him for follow-up care and if I need any further surgery! I had a complicated case and contacted every microsurgeon in the country. I could not find a better surgeon.

Dr. Boyd did my first stage DIEP breast reconstruction. He accidentally burned my chest with the Bovie cautery tool during surgery. He failed to make sure that I had intermittent compression devices in place on my legs, which was very negligent given that my surgery was nearly 14 hours long. I developed a complication in my abdomen that grew worse over four months, and told me "I am not going to reopen your abdomen. That's invasive and we don't like doing invasive things to the human body." I had to find another surgeon to correct the complication (which required surgery), and to complete my reconstruction. I asked Dr. Boyd for a partial refund of what he was paid, to help cover some of my expenses to obtain the care of the second doctor, and he did not even respond to me, but turned my letter over to his insurance company. They cannot settle a claim without his approval, and stated that he said that everything he did was within the standard of care and refused to allow it.
