My first visit, I was brought in at the exact time of my appointment and treatment (x-rays) started immediately. Had not been to see a dentist in several years, the new Xray equipment is wonderful..no cardboard tearing up your mouth...painless. After the exam they did a cleaning...again, new equipment that uses ultrasound/vibration to more quickly remove plaque. The sound will make you want to scream (think high-pitched dental instruments) but the process is much less painful than the old chizling away at the plaque, leaving you bleeding. (now you know why I have avoided seeing the dentist for several years). The doctor discovered a couple of older cracked fillings, and I will be returning later this month for the BIG stuff...but so far, I must say, I am impressed. Staff was great, no problem with the insurance, they are very clear about the procedures and charges. They do not take checks, other than that, I think they are great!

The dentist (McMillan) is fabulous, but the office staff is a disaster, so therefore I have switched to see Dr. McMillan in his other office (Walnut Creek), and life is good again!

Although the dental procedures are new and the dentists at East Bay Dental are well-educated, the patient service is extremely poor. The receptionist demanded that I sign a statement that I would pay 30% of my new service bill, although I have 100% dental coverage. When I requested that she check my records to prove the 100% coverage, she refused. I went home, returned with dental coverage paperwork showing my 100% coverage, and she told me that I would not receive dental service that day (would need to reschedule). However, prior to my leaving the office for the paperwork, the dentist had agreed to serve me that day, when I returned with the papers. In the end, the dentist refused to correct his receptionist's poor customer service. Due to this unacceptable incident, my family of 4 will not return to East Bay Dental again.
