Literally begging on my knees for Dr. Heegaard and HMCM to care about me and my health since COVID. He’s smart but he’s not reliable. Medical trauma continues here.

Dr. Heegaard is the fourth gynecologist I’ve seen about my pelvic pain. If it’s up to me, he will absolutely be the last. I knew the minute I met him that the relief I’d been waiting a year for was no longer unattainable. Not only does he know how to recognize and properly treat endometriosis using the best available technology, but he is fully cognizant of the pain and struggles his patients endure. He understands the symptomatology almost as if he himself has the disease! Dr. Heegaard listens and empathizes and, with the patient, comes up with the best possible treatment plan for her. I have never felt so respected, at ease, enlightened, and comforted in a doctor’s office before. Even months after my laparoscopy excision surgery, I’ve been pleasantly surprised to receive phone calls from Dr. Heegaard to see how I’m doing. What a rare and delightful combination of skills in this man! I have experienced significant pain relief because of him, and I’m blessed to have him as a guide on my health journey. I hope he knows how much light he brings into my life and all his patients’ lives! Dr. Heegaard is a gem of a human being.

Dr. Heegaard is a phenomenal doctor for women's care. He is a specialist in excision and treatment of endometriosis. I suffered with terrible pain and unknowns for 3 years from so many doctors until I found Dr. Heegaard. From the moment he walked into the room for my consultation he had a plan, he had questions but more importantly he wanted to know me. He touched base on several aspects of my life to verify that the symptoms were due to endo. He then also brought up the fact that I also have Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS). Together we came up with a treatment plan and I am thrilled to say that after my surgery with him, I was pain free! It was a huge relief to not have to use the ER anymore as well as so many other daily tasks that were impossible before the surgery. I owe my health to Dr. Heegaard and his staff. You can't find a more professional and personable care team in the midwest.

Dr. Heegaard's skill and knowledge is hard to come by in the world of OBGYN's. More importantly, he listens and cares. After so many terrible experiences with inept OBGYN's and getting nowhere for a solution I was able to find Dr. Heegaard. I had severe endometriosis and other doc's 'solutions' for my case told me they knew nothing about the disease and were not skilled in excision. Dr. Heegaard is extremely knowledgeable and skilled. I was able to work with Heegaard and decide what I wanted to do with my body, not what other doctors told me to do. I am forever grateful to Dr. Heegaard for being able to excise all the endo. He gave me my life back. This is a horrible disease which affects so many women and I was lucky to find him when I did. He listens and understands better than any other doc I have ever seen. I would recommend him for any woman experiencing gynecological issues.

I have lived in several cities and have gone to many doctors with the same complaints. I always left feeling more misunderstood than before. It always seemed like I was just getting blown off or told that the pain I felt couldn't possibly be as bad as I was describing. I finally found Dr.Her card and it may be the best thing that's happened regarding my health. He listened and acknowledged every symptom and quickly got an ultrasound that showed multiple fibroids, endometriosis, and cysts. My ovaries have become glued to my uterus and I was having a lot of pain. We are taking care of this problem and I feel safe with his expertise. If you need to find a good doctor, go to Heegard.

Dr. Heegaard is a gifted and compassionate endometriosis surgeon. I call him a miracle worker! His decision making and skill with the DaVinci Robot has relieved my chronic pain, even after 3 previous laparoscopies and a hysterectomy. I remember my first visit with him after my previous surgeon retired. I was nervous trying to find someone as superb, but he instantly put me at ease. He quickly showed me he wanted to partner with me and knew a lot about endometriosis. At age 31, he successfully excised my endometriosis and severe adhesions, while sparing my ovary. When I ended up in the ER a year later in crippling pain again, he adjusted his schedule so I could have surgery the next day. I am in debt to him. I also rely on him to manage my woman's health needs. Life with endometriosis is very hard, but thanks to him it is much easier. His passion to help women with endometriosis drives him to devote endless hours to changing the trajectory of our lives. Thank you Dr. Heegaard!

Dr Heegaard is the first doctor that listened to me since my previous doctor retired. He listened to my concerns and actually cared about what I thought. Let's just say I was trying to tell my previous doctor that I had endo and he convinced the pain was from PCOS even when I told him I did not feel like it was. I finally looked up endo doctors online and was blessed to come accross DR Heegaard's name. I scheduled an appointment right away and he LISTENED TO ME!! I had surgery and it turns out that I had severe endo which it was all removed. I am looking forward to less painful periods.
