Dr Caldarella is a wonderful endocrinologist! He has helped me with my very complicated medical history. He listens, answers numerous questions, and explains options. Amazing diagnostitian. Always professional and personable. His staff is amazing, efficient and friendly. They are all so helpful. If I call with a question, they respond quickly, and have even had the call returned by the doc! I have so much confidence in this practice. Very grateful for all of their help.

I'm so frustrated I could cry. I've had ALL the symptoms that seem to indicate thyroid issues, and afterseeing an OBGYN and ruling out other issues, they recommended I see an endocrinologist. I waited 3 months for an appointment, had to make arrangements at work and with childcare, arrived early as instructed, and barely had 7 minutes of his time. He asked few questions, and seemed to brush over my concerns. He said the blood work I'd already had seemed conclusive, but he did prescribe more. The results came in the next day, and a nurse left a message, told me nothing was wrong, and asked for the name of my OBGYN (which they already had), to send the results to. I feel dismissed and ignored. Obviously, if I took the time to wait 3 months, rearrange my schedule for my initial appointment and lab work, etc, there's something wrong and I need to figure out what. I'm extremely disappointed and frustrated with my experience with this doctor. I feel like he never thought my issues were worth his time. On the lab prescription, he listed my primary complaint as "unexplained weight gain", whichh was one of my symptoms, but definitely not my primary concern. Isn't it the doctor's job to try to get to the root of the problem?!
The rest of the staff, however, was excellent--kind and compassionate.

Dr. Caldarella laughed at me and said I would be overweight for the rest of my life, shortly after I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism Hashimoto's 5 years ago when I was only 24 (I have the rest of my life to live). I kept searching, read some of the most innovative thyroid literature out there (Dr. Datis Kharrazian's and Dr. Izabella Wentz's works), eventually found a functional naturopath who is willing to treat the root underlying cause of my thyroid problem and, now with supplements and routine bloodwork, combined with following the Autoimmune Protocol diet (AIP), I have gotten back down to my traditional adult weight of 110 pounds (which is what I always was, until I was diagnosed and suddenly was tired for no reason all the time and also gained 20 pounds). With thyroid, you may need to pay out of pocket for a holistic doctor who is actually willing to help you get better, but it's worth it. Unfortunately Dr. Caldarella remains ignorant and inaccurate regarding true thyroid care.

I went to Dr. Caldarella as part of my endless search to find a doctor that will treat my thyroid (Hashimoto’s). After listening to my complaints of fatigue, weight gain, moodiness, etc., he took my bloodwork, upped my meds, told me I should get surgery, and sent me on my merry way. I was very disappointed by the inattentiveness and will not be returning. He may be good for other endocrine conditions, but he was not effective at treating the thyroid.

Dr. Caldarella was very nice but treated my daughter only on her bloodwork which was at the very bottom of normal. He listened to her complaints of fatigue, lack of concentration & focus, weight gain, loss of hair and did nothing. He ordered bloodwork and never told us she had Hashimoto’s. It was only by asking for copies of the BW did I find it. We since found a holistic MD that is successfully treating her Hashi’s with a gluten free diet and increased her thyroid meds to where she is feeling human again.
