I have been his patient for over 20 years. He is absolutely one of the smartest professionals I have ever encountered. He continues to amaze me with his knowledge of current treatment options and latest drugs. Yes, you may wait to see him because he spends an incredible amount of time with you. Yes, he can stray off topic but to me it's like talking to old friend. I trust him completely in every way. If you are looking for experience, John is your man.

Dr Pantazopoulos is in Paramus, not Ridgewood. Even Cigna site still has old address. Office Manager/his assistant wasn’t aware she hadn’t changed it. Note: 3 mos after I told her, she still hasn’t corrected it.

30 mins in the waiting room before being brought to exam room. His assistant (?) gave me EKG. She’s also the person that answers the phone. When I was finally seen by the Dr, he did the typical stethoscope check. He then proceeded to talk for 2.5 hours about himself, the old days, his inability to get a negative review about him removed online. He frequently had long pauses to collect his thoughts. 99% of the talking was not at all related to the exam. Maybe, it’s because he was tired. He’s 79 years old.

My wife was in there with me. We kept staring at each other, hoping he’d finish talking. It was torturous.

At the end of the appointment, he told me my feet were cold and wrote me script for blood work I could get.

When the assistant called me to make follow-up appointment, I explained that he’s a nice guy, but I”m not coming back. I explained the reasons why.

When I received the bill, I called to say I shouldn’t be charged for it. She told me to call the billing person’s number on the bill. Told her the billing person’s number wasn’t on the bill. I re-explained the points above. She said she didn’t believe me and that they haven’t had a complaint in 40 years. Keep in mind that he told me he had received a complaint recently.

She angrily said pay the bill or they’ll take further action. Then, she hung up on me.

I have been a patient of Dr. Pantazopoulos for over 10 years. In that time ,my insurance has changed several times, sometimes not covering his services. I did pay out of pocket to continue using him. He is extremely knowledgable and very thorough when it comes to diagnosis and treatment . I also can say he KNOWS his patients as more than just a number. When I go for my annual visit he recalls the complete scenario from when he first treated me. That in itself, along with the fact that you are never rushed out is well worth the price of admission. I hope he doesn't retire and if and when he does ,he turns his patients over to someone who is as good and thorough as him. His bedside manner and methods are a privilage to anyone that he cares for. Thank you !

Dr. P is truly a great physician. He is very well-versed in cardiology and actually has meetings with the folks running the studies worldwide. But the best part is his fantastic personality. He never rushes you or makes you feel stupid. He respects the patients completely.
