Dr. Algehn is by far a top notch orthopedic surgeon. From initial consultation to post surgery he performs his job flawlessly. He truly cares about each individuals needs & type of treatment needed. He performed 2 surgeries on me that allowed me to return to my extremely laborious career. If surgery is necessary to correct a orthopedic injury Dr. Algren is one of the best if not the best surgeon in Michigan. My wife is currently schuled to see him due to injuries & I'm am completely comfortable with Dr. Algren treating her needs if necessary.

Dr. Ahlgren helped me during one of the most difficult times in my life. Preformed surgery on my cervical part of spine. Dr. Ahlgren goes the extra mile to make sure his patients are well taken care of. His knowledge in orthopedics is top shelf. Dr Ahlgren staff are kind and well informed of office policies. I would highly recommend this physician.
Thank You Dr. Ahlgren for all you help.

Dr. Ahlgren operated on my C-2/C-3 vertebrate with tremendous success. He installed a titanium plate through the front of the neck to fuse the vertebrate. Can not see any scar. Originally I went to see him in an attempt to correct a lumbar surgery done by another surgeon. After viewing my x-rays and MRI - he told me that because of all the 'scar' tissue from the surgery - there was no way he would attempt a fix. He is a great surgeon, gave me the 'honest' opinion of success or failure and is a family guy like the rest of us civilians.

I had neck surgery in 09. After surgery, he left on vacation and I was left in hospital w/o Dr. follow up. I end up staying in hospital 7 days due to complications. Originaly the plan was for me to stay 2 days. Till today my mobility is restricted and sometime get a sharp pains. Prior surgery I was ensured that pains and mobility should be resolved by the syrgery

Dr. Ahlgren has an EXCELLENT bedside manner, is willing to give his patients extended time to thoroughly explain what needs to be done, what to expect, and answers any questions I may have had. I have never felt like he was rushing through the process of explaining procedures with me and that's something I really appreciate. I find that he is genuinely interested in his patients.

I was going to travel from a distance to get my back fixed (herniated disk with extrusion impairing my S1 nerve to my right leg). Initial contact and sending MRI data went well and Dr. A recommended laminectomy/microdiscectomy and I was told to contact surgery scheduler. I had a lot of questions and was told to send an email so they could be answered more efficiently. I sent the list of questions 3 times and left multiple voicemail messages over a 3-4 week period without a single reply. I subsequently decided to go for a different surgeon who is more responsive.

Dr. A takes the time to show you with models and film what is the problem and how he will fix it. Sometimes he may be longer with a patient because he does not make you feel rushed during your appointment time. He lets you ask all the questions that come to mind during your appointment. I have sent him faxes with questions, phone number and times I can be reached and he has always contacted me answering my questions. He has always been available and not made me feel my questions are dumb or unimportant. I trust him and have faith in his surgical skills and would highly recommend him to anyone that would need his expertise.

Dr. Ahlgren is outstanding. He is kind and generous with his time. He has always talked with me for 15 minutes or more at a visit, unheard of for a surgeon. He is knowledgeable and adept. He replaced four of my neck vertabrate with cadaver bone 5 years ago. Explained in all in detail in advance and after. I still check in with him periodically. I am 99% back....I would recommend him to anyone.
