From all that I have heard & experienced with this doctor & his office team, I have found that they have in fact exceeded far & beyond the call of duty towards their patients medical needs.

Dr. Hemant Shirali is compassionate, generous & exemplary in the way he conducts himself during my entire experience with him & his staff. His office is professional & very supportive of his patients. This is what you call a "Dream Team."

These are trying times with one of the worst pandemics to affect the entire world. With the medical community straining under these unprecedented effects on all of us, this doctor & his supporting team should be applauded & praised for their continued service to people of need, such as myself & countless others' that I have spoken to.

Criticism of these brave heroes in the medical profession who have put their lives, & their families lives, in jeopardy for the greater good of people in need, is disgusting, hypocritical & revulsive. These individuals should set aside their arrogance & sense of self-entitlement.

This review has nothing to do with the doctor, but to do with her assistant.

My mother was referred to Dr Shirali and I called to find out when my mother would have her appointment. Her assistant goes off on a tangent talking about the fact that there is a one and a half year wait to see the Doc, it would take a few weeks or so to even get a call back etc. All of a sudden, the assistant properly examined the documents which my mom's family doctor had sent over and admitted that she was mistaken and that she would send the referral into Markham Stouffville Hospital and that I'd have to follow up MSH to get an appointment. The receptionist or whomever it was that I spoke with was REAL snappy and condescending. I let it go thinking she may be having a bad day. May be overwhelmed with work etc.

I call MSH a few days later as directed. Within a 2 day period of time, I have called 7 times and all I get is their voicemail.

I called Dr. Shirali's office again, get the receptionist who was a co-op student that said she'd have someone give me a call right back.

The same person whom I spoke with a few days prior to calls me back. I simply called to make sure the referral was sent. She goes off on the same tangent.... 1.5 year wait, weeks to get a call back... But she didn't even hear my question. All I wanted to know is if the referral was sent as I could not get through to MSH. TOTALLY condescending. We went at it for a bit as I could not tolerate her unprofessional demeanor any longer. I wish that these calls are recorded for QUALITY purposes... Because some serious work needs to be done there.

Newsflash.... I am a customer and you treat your customers with Respect. Especially when I was not being rude to begin with.

I haven't even met Dr Shirali yet. I am sure she is a great orthopedic surgeon. I feel extremely bad for leaving a 1 star rating... But the conversation I had today with this employee of yours completely ruined my day and it is imperative you get this feedback from a client in order to improve.

I truly hope this message reaches Dr Shirali. I will update this review once I know action has been taken and I may consider giving out a better rating.

I've tried calling the office to tell you this over the phone, but I keep getting your voicemail!

Dr. Shirali is not only an amazing Doctor, but an amazing and genuine human being. Him and his Assistant Pinki have gone above and beyond to move mountains for my father. Even though it was found that the area of my fathers severe excruciating pain was not in an area of his expertise he and his team still did everything in their power to get him the tests he needed to get to the bottom of his pain and because of the love, care and genuine nature of Dr. Shirali my father has been given a chance to increase his mobility, have less pain and most importantly regain hope in his future. Not even top surgeons in trauma at Sunny Brook did what Dr. Shirali did for my family and there are no amount of thank yous to give. If I could give a million stars I would.

The first thing you will experience with Dr. Shirali is his remarkable confidence in is practice. My left knee was misdiagnosed until I saw Dr. Shirali. He identified my problem and guided me through the steps that included a PRP injection and then to surgery. My case was unusual as I had a pin in my femur and this made the alignment issues in my knee replacement critical. The operation was a complete success and Dr. Shirali was there before and numerous times after the surgery. I was very lucky to find him. Dr. Shirali's practice is enhanced ten fold by his office manager Pinky. Her compassion and sensitivity to the patient is remarkable. She provided the kind of service to me that one would expect if I was a family member of hers. That kind of sincerity and dedication is rare these days and Pinky deserves a lot of credit for making the whole journey of a knee replacement like a walk in the park. I highly recommend Dr. Shirali and his right hand, Pinky.

Remarkable work from Dr. Shirali and his team. I had my hip replaced October 29/21 with the Direct Anterior approach and couldn’t be more pleased as I was up and active within two weeks. After having two knee replacements in the past, I feel I can speak from my past experiences that this was a fairly easy surgery to recover from. If you are a candidate, this method is the way to go! I found Dr. Shirali to be very thorough and kind and his Secretary Pinky was also a very knowledgable and a compassionate person as she guiding me every step of the way.

One year ago, I had total knee replacement on my both knees. I had postponed it for so long, it was agony to walk. I was fortunate to be referred to Dr. SHIRALI. The rest is history. I am pain free and I have no words to describe his kindness, his empathy and gave me a clear picture. Dr SHIRALI 80% and he advised me that the other 20% is in my hand. I did physio and I walked 20 to 50 min ever three or four says in a week. So anybody who is going to have surgery have confidence in him, trust him and you will be dancing after your surgery . I am very grateful to have met you and thank you.

Dr.Shirali performed a knee replacement surgery on my mother and he did a wonderful job. He made her feel comfortable and reassured her that this was a safe surgery that would allow her to achieve a better quality of life. He is very knowledgable and knows what he is doing, as my mother was up and walking in a matter of a few days. If you are thinking about having a knee replacement, I highly recommend going through Dr.Shirali as he did a spectacular job for my mother. She is very satisfied

I am truly blessed I was referred to Dr. Shirali. He is the reason my mental health didn't suffer due to my injury, otherwise I know I would have become severely depressed. I had locked my knee from a bad sports injury and would be limping until I got surgery. As an active person, I felt lost and knew I would be waiting many months for an MRI and surgery, especially with COVID-19. When I met Dr. Shirali, he recognized I was suffering and headed to a dark place. Thankfully, he was able to quickly schedule me for an MRI and surgery with his colleague (Dr. Watts) who could get me in sooner than himself. I can't thank Dr. Shirali enough for saving me. If we had more doctors like him, people would have more faith in our healthcare system.
