Terrible old man. Grumpy, rude and needs to retire for Lord sake. Very poor bedside manners.

He is horrible. I had acid reflux and went to see him 2 month ago and had a GI procedure done right after. He prescibed a medicine afterwords and didn't work at all. I followed up with him yesterday. The appointment was at 4pm and i didn't see him until 5pm. I asked him to explain the results, he just read the autoposy results. I found it said I had inflammation and asked if I need antibiotics. He started yelling "there is no bacteria, NO, bacteria....." then I asked why the previous medicine didn't work, he goes then let's try another one. I don't think this old guy deserves the DR title. Period.

Going for a colonoscopy and/or related office visit is an awkward thing. Had both upper GI endoscopy & colonoscopy 5 yrs ago when Dr. Chessler was in Ft Lee. Just had another upper with another colonoscopy next week. Dr. Chessler is a kind, patient but straightforward dr with the best "bedside manner" I've ever had-very important to a patient in this circumstance. At recent consultation, he had fully reviewed my file before i came in so he recalled my family medical history, everyone in the office is kind, professional, punctual, detail oriented and knowledgable. I don't understand when people give doctors bad reviews because of their insurance. If I had a nickel for every time the staff told THE SAME PATIENT who just wasn't getting it that they will get a pre-cert but it is THEIR RESPONSIBILITY to see what their insurance covers. They give you a brochure about your procedure reiterating this.

Please don't choose this place. If you have questions, there won't be an answer for you! I called several times to ask a question about a very invasive test that they prescribed and they did not call me back. When I called them after numerous messages for the doctor the nurse called me back and still didn't answer my question. I just did the test and found out that although invasive, it is not a very accurate test. I feel sorry for myself;(

WORST PLACE TO GO IF YOU HAVE AETNA INSURANCE. I had to pay 30% amount for just the GI&Colon Screening bc he doesn't have contract with Aetna and they never mentioned that to me in the beginning. The staffs are not helpful, not friendly at all. They're too busy chatting. They said my insurance covers everything and later i found out that they do not have contract with aetna that i have to pay 30% amount. And they said that i have to pay full amount in 6 months or else it will go to collection agency. And the billing dept customer service is terrible. They are keep changing my balance every time I asked. And they send you bills so late...i know my friends who had same test with other doctors, they did not pay single penny. I will NEVER GO BACK THERE AGAIN! IF YOU HAVE AETNA, DO NOT GO THERE or else you will be paying a lot.
