I went to Dr. Bernstein for migraines. He switched my topamax for an anti-depressant. Which caused me to gain a tremdous amount of weight. When I returned 2 months later, he changed my medication to another anti-depressant which caused me severe reactions that lead to two emergency room visits. I called his office to follow-up like I was advised like the er doctor, but I was advised that he could not see me (his patient) for over a month. I only had the medication that he prescribed, and not other directions. I subsequently had to stop taking all medications because I did not know what would work for me. I called other doctors and Dr. Mishu was able to get me in within three weeks.. I would not recommend Dr. Bernstein. I would recommend Dr. Mishu (Mid-Town Nuerology) because his treatment is helping me get my life back on track for a healthy headache free lifestyle.

I saw Dr. Bernstein many years ago for diabetes. He provided me with excellent medical care and helped me lose a huge amount of weight (205lbs) which resulted in the disapearance of my diabetes. I strongly recommend Dr. Bernstein.

Do not use this doctor! Several years ago this doctor treated me for a Graves disease, a thyroid condition. I was strongly urged to take iodine radiation which he insisted he was capable of administering in a dose that would "cure" my problem. All my thyroid function was subsequently destroyed and I have since found out that what he insisted he could do is nearly impossible. The quality of my life has drastically changed with all the negatives of now being completely hypothyroid. I will also mention "woman beware" for consistent improprieties by Dr. Bernstein, if you do go to him, insist a nurse be in the office with you.
