Excellent doctor. I was actually always afraid to do my check ups because the other doctors didn't really have the time to explain problems. This guy will still down and explain everything and you won't feel rushed. Dr. Rubenstein is a true professional and I would highly recommend him to anyone with problems.

I visited Dr. Rubinstein at the Palo Alto Medical Foundation and had an upper GI endoscopy performed by him. Dr Rubinstein was very knowledgeable, offered clear diagnosis options for my suspected celiac disease, and was not biased toward any of them. The endoscopy was completely painless and I was fully functional in a few hours after the surgery. Dr. Rubinstein communicated the results during the next business day, and his staff followed up with a courtesy call to check on my status. I was very please to work with Dr. Rubinstein and would highly recommend him.

The only doctor who could diagnose a GI problem that had hospitalized me. Not only is Dr. Rubinstein knowledgeable and effective, he was very kind in explaining the bacterial infection that had harmed me and gave me all the information I needed on recovery.

Very caring, attentive, knowledgable and responsive. Unlike 98% of MDs at PAMF, Dr Rubenstein doesn't run a coupkle of cursory lab tests and then give up on patients when the most obvious or common cause is not the culprit. Dr Rubenstien manages to treat patients as individuals and searched for the cause of problems to reslove rather than mask symptoms. He sometimes needs nudging to do all the tests you may want done. Do your homework beofre seeing him and he wil take you seriously enough to answer your questions; he is not threatened by intelligent patients that read medical journals and ask questions about their treatment.

Very competent, caring and thorough. Does not jump to conclusions or patronize patients and tries to help problem solve. The only competent doc ay Palo Alto Medical, which is otherwise a nightmare to deal with on all levels.
