I seen Dr. Todd at Surrey Memorial in 2016, after going to the ER due to bleeding from my rectum. I was a 30 something female at the time. He immediately let it be known that he wasn't thrilled with having to do a rectal exam. He scolded me accusing me of "sticking something in where it should only go out".. that wasn't the cause. He did one xray to confirm there wasn't a perforation and sent me home without any answers as to why I was bleeding from there. No follow up, no referral or anything. Just a scolding, that's all I got from him. I don't think he respects or listens to women to be honest. I never want to see him again!

Dr. Todd was a locum at Medicine Hat September 2017. I met him in emergency on his first day. He found what was wrong that others had missed for over 2 months. He listened to what I said and got me in and fixed my problem. He saved my life and I am so greatful! Dr. Todd is a beautiful human and an amazing doctor!

This man made my first experience with breast cancer needlessly traumatic. He complained while he was doing the full biopsy that I was wasting his time because there was definitely no cancer. His bedside manner was mean and demeaning; I had to watch him carve into my breast and see all the guts while he kept ranting and asking me why I was there wasting his time. Then I came to the follow-up appointment for the results he simply didn't show. The waiting room was full of his patients scheduled for surgery who had been waiting since early morning. The Women's Hospital couldn't contact him; his pager was off. After hours the receptionist called me up and said I have to tell you that you have invasive cancer and ductal this and lobular and atypical that, none of which I could take in, partly because I was so aware of her terrible predicament having to tell 10 patients what the surgeon was supposed to do. Luckily I was able to get an ethical surgeon, Urve Kuusk, for the radical mastectomy with 8 lymph removed, and a then a good reconstructionist who has now passed. I would think twice if you see his name as your surgeon. My conclusion? A horrible misogynist with no interest whatsoever in medicine. The upvotes all seem completely phoney to me--the lack of detail compared to the thoughtful negative reviews says it all. I had thought this creep would have been barred from practice by now. I am shocked to see he he is still allowed to abuse patients.

I really hope this is the right Doctor Todd (general surgeon from Surrey memorial hospital, was unable to catch his first name) and if not I'm sorry for soiling the reputation of someone else but my Doctor Todd was the most condescending and least helpful medical professional I've ever met. I had appendicitus and he offered me no theory as to why it happens to me or even in general, never answered any of my practical questions like what I should aim to be doing before I get discharged or why I'm still in so much pain from a minor operation, just told me "it'll all happen", "nobody knows why," rudely questioned my veganism though offered no recommendation of other lifestyle option, and on my 5th and last day he said "yeah, most people are back to work by now." One of the nurses who happened to be in the room at the time of his speaking to me even said she was surpised by his behaviour and refusal to listen to me. I've never had such a disheartening experience and I sincerely hope he does some serious self reflection and loses the oversized pilot suit and hat when he visits his patients. Even harder to take you seriously, buddy.

He said he did endoscopy (putting a camera tube through mouth to check upper part of stomach) during my gallbladder surgery after acute pancreatitis attack. Never performed. MRCP (MRI) was needed and booked, but he did not wait for 3 days and performed surgery in a hurry saying that we were used to do surgeries before innovation of this test. He asked me to leave hospital after 6 hours after surgery saying many patients need my bed. I asked for follow up visit after 6 weeks of surgery, he refused. Now hospital is telling me that he is no more with them. After 3 months of my surgery my food is not going down & comes back to mouth, and developed food digesting problems. No where to go. FP is performing many tests.

My husband was treated by Dr. Todd for acute appendicitis. Dr. Todd has an incredible bedside manner, so kind and caring, and thoroughly explained what he was going to do and what to expect. Visited us x 2 in the ER before surgery and then called me at 1000 pm at night to let me know how the surgery went. Couldnt have asked for a more dedicated and professional surgeon. Very grateful he was on call the day my husband took sick!

I saw Dr. Todd in 2005 for breast cancer which had not shown up in my yearly mammo's and was so advanced I was in pain from a lymph node enlarged with cancer. Dr. Todd performed an impeccable mastectomy and lymph dissection.Thirteen nodes were removed and and he found a node in my chest that was positive for cancer. He told me before surgery he "would do everything he could" and I knew he would. He found it all and after a referral to Dr. Karin Gelmon and her expert care I am grateful to them both. Thank you Dr.Todd for your caring, highly skilled professional and life saving care and removing this cancer from my body.
