Dr. O'Hanlan is amazing. She is very kind, concerned with your pain levels, comfort levels emotionally as well. Very skilled and I cannot say enough about what she did for me. I was up the same night of surgery, and back to work in less than a week after MAJOR procedure. She is thorough, thoughtful, and is by far the best physician I have ever seen. Her receptionist, I agree is rude, ineffective, and unprofessional. Other than that, the entire experience was a gift from GOD. Thank you Dr. O'Hanlan!!!

Dr. Kate is a kind and brilliant surgeon and an invaluable advocate for the glbt community. I would recommend her to anyone and everyone. My only gripe is that her receptionist, at least when I was there, was beyond rude and unhelpful (both in person and on the phone). Thankfully seeing Dr. Kate was worth putting up with the receptionist, but it was definitely an annoyance.

Excellent. Dr. O'Hanlan saved my life and has become one of my life's heroes. No matter where you live in the U.S., travel to her so she can do your surgery. My God this surgeon has skill! And warm comforting bedside manner.

Doctor O'Hanlon,I can't bring myself to call her Kate as she requested, is extremely skilled, knowledgeable and very caring. When you are diagnosed with cancer and are facing surgery, especially in an unfamiliar town and with a new doctor, your emotions can overwhelming. Doctor O'Hanlon did everything she could to reassure me and my husband.She has a great web site that tells you all the information you need to know but she was always willing to answer any questions I had.With her surgical expertise you have mimimal pain and almost no scarring. After the extensive surgery I had NO real down time. She is a tough task master when it comes to exercising after surgery as it is her belief that the more you move the less pain you have and the sooner you recover. It worked for me.Because I lived out of the area I returned to my own doctor for follow up but Doctor O'Hanlon still called me several times to check on my progress. I would not hesitate to return to her again should the need arise.

Dr. Kate O'Hanlan is the best doctor I've ever had. She's a very skillful, brilliant, and caring surgeon. She takes her time and does her best job for each patient. I was her third surgery case of the day and in pre-op room, as I lay on the gurney waiting, I heard Dr. O'Hanlan speak to the other patients and their families before their surgeries. I heard her make each patient feel special and loved and confident. I appreciate that Dr. O'Hanlan maintains state-of-the-art surgical skills. She did a complete laparoscopic hysterectomy through one small incision this year! She teaches surgeons in the U.S. the newest gynecological surgery techniques. Unlike most male and female doctors I've gone to in my adult life, Dr. O'Hanlan truly respects women and cares they get optimum quality health care. I traveled from out of town for my surgery and it was well worth it to be operated on by a master. She has a great sense of humor and is very candid about discussing your health issues and case.

Dr. O'Hanlan is knowledgeable of many aspects of women's health, but is condescending, fat-phobic, and ignores pain. She was 3 days late giving adequate pain meds in the hospital for a 12" incision, then took those meds away 12 hrs later. Her web site says pain will be gone in a week; she dismissed it was still severe 3 weeks post-op. Still in pain now at 7 wks.

Dr. Kate O’Hanlan is the best doctor I have been to. She was able to do a laparoscopic hysterectomy when no one else would even try because of large fibroids. She listened to all my concerns and made me feel confident that I was going to be ok with very little pain. I highly recommend her to anyone. The surgery went perfectly and I had little pain just like she said.
