This doctor refused to allow me see midwifes his practice due to my age only and no other medical reason. He basically denied me a level of service I was seeking based on an outdated non evidenced based protocol. His practice also does not allow patients to coordinate care with both MDs and midwifes like the Novant Health practices in the area who gladly will allow patients of ANY age to see BOTH midwives and MDs. My impression of the practice is that is outdated with non evidenced based strict protocols that are more focused on medications and surgeries than patient or baby outcomes. They are not focused on empowering patients to make best decisions for themselves but are based on a paternalistic model of strict outdated protocols. I would not recommend this practice to anyone.

4 years ago I was pregnant with twins. Dr Wicker tried to coerce me to abort one of my babies on more than one occassion even after being told that was never going to happen. He made a terrifying pregnancy even more traumatizing. Thank goodness I did not listen to him and I have two healthy beautiful daughters. Shout out to Dr. Stein and Pixley. They were amazing and brought my gorgeous girls into this world.

Horrible experience- missed that my daughter was low birth weight and that I had placenta previa! Had to have a c section after my 35 week appointment that was supposed to be normal. At my post-partum visit, I asked them if they read the scans wrong and they admitted it was a miss. However, Dr Wicker never admitted he missed it. I will never go back

I had a terrible experience with Dr. Wicker. I took 2 positive at home pregnancy tests so I scheduled an appt to get my pregnancy confirmed and to see how far along I was. My urine test came back negative at the office. The nurse told me that it was nothing to worry about and a blood test would most likely come back positive. She said she had seen this happen a few times in the past month. Dr Wicker comes in a few minutes later and tells me that I am not pregnancy and I had a chemical pregnancy (an early miscarriage). He said this with absolute certainty. I was immediately upset and asked him if there was anyway the urine test was wrong. He said it was possible but highly unlikely (with no sympathy I might add). He said I would get a blood test to test my HCG levels and then get another one in 48 hours and the levels should be decreasing since I miscarried. Well, the blood test came back positive and I was indeed pregnant. My hcg levels tripled 2 days later, showing my pregnancy was progressing well. The office blamed it on a faulty test. I never heard from dr wicker. I thought an apology was necessary for the emotional roller coaster he put me on. It was honestly traumatic. Needless to say, I haven't been back! I don't recommend him to anyone!!! I am 10 weeks pregnant now :)

Dr. Wicker put my husband and I through one of the most stressful and traumatic experiences of our lives bringing our 2nd son into the world. I was 38+5 weeks pregnant and had been "cramping" for 12 hours with no relief, and increasing pain and frequency. They brought me into the office and dr. Wicker was the only one available. He didn't listen to me or hear what I was saying at all. He dismissed all of my concerns, told me i was experiencing intestinal cramping and they would see me at my next weeks appointment. When I asked when I should call back or go to the hospital, he told me when the "cramps" were 5 minutes apart, when I told him they already were he told me "well you'd have to be in a lot more pain than you are now" to be in labor. That was at 3pm my son was born at 6:30pm after only arriving at the hospital at 6:18. I am a second time mom and NICU nurse and would never recommend anyone going to him!! I have heard this similar story from many other women that have gone to him. He should learn from his mistakes and learn to listen to his patients!!

I saw Dr. Wicker at 33 weeks because I was feeling off/uncomfortable and none of the midwives were available. He dismissed how I was feeling and told me I would be uncomfortable for the next 7 weeks. I saw him at 2pm and my son was born the next morning at 9:14a. He spent 24 days at CMC in the NICN/NPCN. Dr. Wicker should be ashamed of the way he treats patients.

Dr.Wicker has terrible bedside manner and I would not recommend him to anyone I know. My wife was 5 months pregnant and extremely health. She's gained only 7lbs at 5 months and Dr. Wicker was extremely rude and told her she needed to watch her carbs. He also told her she needed to hit the treadmill ASAP. The rest of the staff are terrific!

While my wife was pregnant Dr Wicker told my wife that she was overweight and to go on the South Beach Diet. He continually made errors in her weight and his bedside manner was unacceptable. I am not sure why the above posters said how great he was. After a number of visits Dr Wicker was consistently bad with horrible bed side manner. The other doctors were wonderful!
