Stay away. Had a telephone appointment with him recently for my teenage daughter and was told that I should google her symptoms and tell him what it said. Clearly did not have her chart in front of him as he had no idea how old she was or what medications she was on. Left that call with him not even knowing if her symptoms were an emergency, or nothing to be concerned about. Ended up in the emergency room.
Consistently hours late for appointments, even when via telephone. I once waited 4 hours past our scheduled appointment time and then received a call from the clinic that he JUST called in sick, and would have to reschedule. Next available appointment was 3.5 weeks later.

I always felt rushed during appointments with Dr. Buckley. He isn't a physician that welcomed more than one concern which is frustrating because it was difficult to get appointments with him.

Terrible service for phone appointments. You sit around and wait for him to call you all day and he Never calls you. Why do they bother to take phone appointments? Very disappointed!

Dr. Buckley is knowledgeable, attentive and cautious. I have found him to be very trustworthy and a person of high integrity. He demonstrates great care for his patients and concern for what is in the patient’s best interest.

I have only seen Dr. Buckley on a few occasions, but I have no complaints. He is very direct and matter of fact in his approach. He has answered all my questions and made necessary adjustments to my medical care as he saw required. I believe he appreciates patients to take responsibility for their health when it comes to things over which they have some control. He even provides a free anti-aging news letter, encouraging things you can do to improve your overall health, that will, in many cases, reduce your need for drugs. (Check it out.) Dr. Buckley inherited the patients of a doctor who had many of the same patients for decades. (Dr. Stephen Gibbons would be an extremely hard act for any doctor to follow.) Dr. Buckley is not chatty, but he answers all questions. He is not "warm", but he is professional. He directs patients to focus on the medical issue at hand and not to go off on tangents. I'm sure that rubs many people the wrong way, but he has never declined to discuss any other existing medical issue. However, if you digress too much, he will not waste time in refocusing you on what you came in for. He is paid to be your physician, not your friend. Many years ago I had an endocrinologist with the worst bed-side manner EVER...but he saved my life. Don't underestimate Dr. Buckley. He's abrupt and irreverant and reminds me of a cross between the TV doctors "House" and "Doc Martin". 😊 I like him.

Wow! I am shocked by these reviews. They certainly do not describe the doctor I see. Dr Buckley replaced my doctor of 35 years. At first I wasn`t sure about him however, he has turned out to be an excellent doctor. He takes the time to listen and does not hesitate to refer you to where you need to be. He has been extremely helpful and caring to me. My husband is also a patient of Dr. Buckleys. Last year he was very sick and Dr Buckley did everything he could to find out what was going on and get him feeling better. Several of my family members see Dr. Buckley and they are happy with his care. We are fortunate to have him!

This man is egotistical, ignorant, rude and self important. He has never done any examination other than checking blood pressure. Heartless and totally inconsiderate. NEVER returns phone calls from patients OR pharmacies. If you have more than two concerns he will cut you off and tell you to keep the others for the next appointment. He seems to think he is God's gift to women but totally ignores and/or makes disparaging remarks to or concerning my husband. He has suggested referrals to specialists for myself but never follows through. He constantly hammers away at weight issues and sees everything as directly related to weight. I feel sorry for the other doctors and support staff who have to work with him. He has suggested he may retire in 2 years. No love loss.

My daughter and I went in to our appointment with Dr. Niall Buckley. His cell phone rang and he answered it! Was not impressed at all.
He also did not address any of our concerns! He replaced our retired family doctor so we cannot get another.

He never wants to listen to our concerns. He just wants to write up the prescriptions and get us out. I only have to see him every two months. Looks like we will be looking for a new doctor. Plus he never gives a straight answer. Maybe they should have someone go in and sit in and see how he does in his appointments. Plus he is really creepy. He always has to touch my leg or something else and just shakes my girlfriends hand. Makes me very uncomfortable.

I think he's at Gladstone in Halifax now. This dr is a dud...I suffered with stage 5 Endometriosis for 12 years, 7 of those under his care. He was dismissive about the pain I was in, refused to send me to a specialist in Halifax that could have diagnosed my disease much sooner, was angry any time I brought a support person in with me to help ask questions & gets very offended if you want to know your test result #'s. I lost 12 years of my working & personal life, that with timely diagnosis and proper excision, would have kept me from suffering so much pain for so long...I can NEVER get those years back.
