I became a patient of Dr Klugman during the most difficult time in my life, losing my father to cancer. He fought it for 2 years and I saw Klugman for most of that time period. I'd been on an antianxiety and antidepressant that had basically stopped working for me and he immediately took me off of it. Started a new med slowly, followed up frequently during dosage changes and medication changes. He suggested a therapist to see while be treated by him and i.am forever grateful. He knows his medications, interactions side effects, etc. He knows his conditions and disorders as well. An extremely capable psychiatrist that I am grateful to.have.

I was referred to Dr. Klugman. During my initial visit he insisted that I go on medication. If I was unwilling to do so he did not want to treat me. I was reluctant, but I agreed to try the mediation. After that, I saw him for very brief visits and he kept giving refills for my prescription. His assistant billed my insurance incorrectly every time. I tried and tried to get them to resubmit my claims so I could be reimbursed, but they did not comply. I missed an appointment because of a problem with my electronic calendar. Dr. Klugman refused to see me again. I stopped taking my medication and I noticed no change. I've been off meds ever since and I feel fine.

I was treated by this doctor decades ago. He diagnosed me with bi-polar disorder and put me on large doses of lithium, , increasing every month without blood tests. I was ultimately pulled over by the police driving aimlessly an hour away from my destination. I was subsequently hospitalized two times.

I stopped seeing Dr. Klugman about 12 years ago. My mother had been seeing him and she was diagnosed with bi polar disorder. He told her that based on my symptoms of not sleeping well (at age 13) and mood swings, that I too needed treatment. The medication dosages I was put on we're extremely high. I fell down the stairs twice needing stitches on my face. I was over medicated and taking a mixture of medications at bed time. I lost the ability to fall asleep on my own and was addicted to my meds. I saw a new doctor in college and he told me I show absolutely no signs of bi polar disorder. He worked very hard trying to get me off of my meds. Finally today, over 16 years later I am almost fully recovered from the damage this man has done to me. I'm finally starting to live a normal life. Please think twice before seeing this scam artist. He will diagnose everyone with bi polar disorder.

This doctor is ABSOLUTELY awful!!! DO NOT go and see him. He does not pay attention to what you are saying when telling him your problems, and his assistant is THE WORST. He discharges patients after missing only one appointment.

STAY AWAY!! I started seeing Dr. Klugman when I was a young teenager for anxiety. I saw him for 10 years and he still never helped me with my problem trying all sorts of different medications. His secretary is VERY RUDE. All he cared about was getting his copay. I am seeing a new doctor who is very knowledgeable and caring. You will be very sorry if you see him!!

Dr. Jeffrey Klugman seemed concerned with my mental health until he discharged me without notice. I received a letter about my discharge having already occurred. I wish Dr. Klugman had the professionalism to talk to me about any issues of concern at least once before discharging me. There are many psychiatrists available for each insurance plan. Please think twice about seeing Dr. Klugman, because I wish someone had told me that before I made the mistake of doing so. I wish I knew that failing to make an appointment with a doctor who's often on vacation and hard to pin down would result in blunt discharge.
