dr. orrok never returned a phone call in the 3 years i saw her. i was deeply depressed and nearly killed myself, but she refused to call me back. i don't see how she lives with herself, but her lack of conscience apparently has saver her!!

I ave seen many phycriatrist s in my life. And Dr. Orrock is by far the most understanding and compassionate Dr. I have ever had. I am so lucky to have her. Yes maybe you have to wait awhile you k ow why not because like other Drs. She over books and wants more money no that I k ow is not at all the case with Dr. Orrock her only problem is she is to caring and has so much compassion for her patients she. Will spend as much time with you as you need and never will you see her look at the clock like all Drs. Do. Not her i am being honest you are very lucky if she is her Dr. Because you know after 15 minutes with a patient you do not get paid beyond that Dr. Orrock never looks at the time she is to busy putting all her focus on her patient. Dr. Orrok has been immeasurably helpful for me. I came to her seeking a second opinion regarding my treatment under another psychiatrist. While he was helpful in his own way, she was the first doctor I have met that checks for anything under the sun before prescribing medication. The first thing she suggested was that I get my thyroid checked. Lo and behold, I have hypothyroidism! I am admittedly a newer patient and there seems to be a 50-50 chance of waiting a long time or being seen right away. However, her knowledge and helpfulness are exceptional. My initial appointment did take a couple of hours because she has a long intake procedure but I greatly appreciate the care she takes to cover every base. I have already recommended her to a few friends and family.

Doctor Orrok is the most kind hearted, knowledgable psychiatrist in CT. She truly cares for the well being of each of her patients, and her staff. Her passion for helping others is truly incredible, as she does take her time with each patient, it is only because she wants to help and listen to each patient.

I don't know if it's her or her staff, but I called her last wen. And told them my daughter was out of meds (my daughter is 15) and they basically said oh well I don't care now she has an appointment tomorrow thank God. But she had to go all this time

Dr Orrok is so incredibly helpful. She cares. She's empathetic. She listens to every word you say and prior to prescribing she tests EVERYTHING to make sure nothing is being missed. I'd recommend her 100 times over.

Dr. Orrok was extremely unhelpful. Though she was plesant to see and her office was nice, she seemed to get lost somewhere. She insisted that she not give me medications because of a pre-exsisting condition I had. Her theory on this condition was false and nothing I could tell her would change her mind. I am sad that I let her treat me for as long as I did. I suffered extreme bouts of depression and suicidal episodes because of lack of medication. I wish I hadn't of let her let me suffer so long.

Dr. Orrok is unique. She is compassionate, perceptive, in short--a brilliant and experienced psychiatrist. You will have to wait for your turn because she takes time to truly find out what troubles you without watching the clock and cleverly cutting you off to fit into a schedule. She is well worth waiting for. In this respect she is completely ethical. You are a real person to her, she is interested in your circumstances, cares and will give you phenomenal advice. Yes, she dispenses pills--but its up to you to tell her how they make you feel. Her staff adores her. Make the most of the time you have with her, as she reserves the right to have a life. Because she is so helpful and giving during the session her unavailability after hours by phone is understandable. This excellent, supremely talented psychiatrist needs time to recharge. I've seen many 'mental health professionals' from the highest echelons--none come close to Barbara Orrok.

She is crazier than me! She thinks that everything is repressed. I don't repress, I remember my trauma. She had a hard time dealing with my memories.
