Dr. Metzinger literally gave me my life back! Any woman who has had breast implants from over ten years ago must read my story... I had saline breast implants under the muscle back in 1995 by a great doctor in Baton Rouge. He has since passed away. I started feeling a little "achey" around 2005. My hands felt arthritic and my lower back was starting to hurt. By and by, I decided to visit a rheumatologist. He ran several tests and had a MRI done on my lower back. Nothing was wrong! Puzzled, I would continue to see him as my symptoms became worse. He diagnosed me with Fibromyalgia! Over the years things became so bad that I couldn't sit, stand or walk for too long. My husband and I divorced because I just didn't "feel like" going anywhere. (We never really thought it was the "fibromyalgia.") I was awarded social security disability and went from a respected respiratory therapist with a very nice home and family to doing nothing at all (except watching tv and sleeping all day.) From 2013 until now, I visited with a doctor who specializes in Fibro 3 hours away. Since I couldn't ride for that long, I would stay at a hotel in the middle then continue the next day to my appointment. I have had every test run known to mankind and have taken every drug, even for "off label" purposes. It was all trial and error. I became so miserable that I gave it all to Jesus... I was done. About two months ago, I brought my mom into see Dr. Metzinger for her eyelids interfering with her vision. The Dr. and I started chatting and I mentioned that I had breast implants. He asked who did them and when did I have it done. When I said "1995," his eyes opened wide. He proceeded to show me pictures of implants he had removed along with the "capsule" or scar tissue. My jaw dropped. They were full of fungus! He told me that these ladies complained of aches, pain & stiffness like fibromyalgia. I then jumped in and told him about my history. He slowly shook his head and explained that back then the implants were only warrantied for 10 years. The saline implants had valves on them and become leaky over time. He was willing to bet that my implants were the cause of my illness. Well, I looked at it this way: regardless, it was time to take them out, so I scheduled my surgery right away. Now two years prior I did call the office where my first doctor worked and asked the nurse if they had to come out. She told me "No, as long as you're not having any problems." Dr. Metzinger said "But you ARE having problems." I guess I was just thinking in terms of how they looked and felt. Not my other issues. After my surgery last week, Dr. Metzinger found a calcified mass the size of a man's fist under my left implant. It was so hard that he had to cut it off my chest wall! It was also present inside the bag. He cleaned me out put in drain ports, took biopsies, cut out the scar tissue and sent it all to pathology! Now I don't know what they will find, but it will be something that should not have been there! I began to feel better immediately! After 10 years of just existing, I was almost scared to think I was better. Ladies, please, if you're feeling fatigued or like you're living with the flu, and you have implants START with Dr Metzinger! Some women are actually allergic to the bag which is silicone. Yes, silicone is safe, but for how long? This intelligent man knows what he's talking about. I always thought contaminated implants were rare... not so! I've seen the many pictures to prove it. I am proof myself. He is very friendly and the staff is outstanding. The nurse even called to check on me everyday including the WEEKEND! Today's implants are good for 20 years and are prefilled and inserted not with a sterile gloved hand, but with an instrument that is definitely sterile. I hope that my testimony helps many of you. Dr. Metzinger fixed a botox done by a doctor in Baton Rouge. My lids were droopy and painful. He raised my brows and put me on drops and now I am perfect. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

I have known Dr. Metzinger for many years. When the time came for me to place my face in the hands of a surgeon, I did not hesitate to make an appointment with Dr. Steve. His staff is attentive, professional, and caring. I brought Dr. Metzinger a photo of myself that was 22 years old and asked him to make me look like myself again. He did such a WONDERFUL job that it is only under very close scrunity that anyone notices a difference, and when they do, it's usually - "you look wonderful, your face is glowing, your neck looks like that of a 19 year old". IF I choose to tell them about the surgery, they are FLOORED. Dr. Metzinger's staff checks on your daily post-op, he personally oversees your care on a weekly basis, he responds to the littlest concerns, no matter how trivial. He rarely makes you feel rushed, encourages you to talk over every detail. He is EXCELLENT, and I highly recommend him.

I would 150% recommend Dr Metzinger! I had breast aug/lift &minor lipo under the arm pit. We spoke for about 20 min and he was wonderful he took his time explaining to me & didnt make me feel like just another patient. His nurse Norma and everyone on his staff are such amazing friendly. Norma called me everyday after surgery to check on me. He is in my opinion the BEST PLASTIC SURGEON!! He put all my general concerns at ease and I felt very confident with him. After seeing 4 other drs before him I was almost to the point of not wanting the surgery. I am 28 and every dr I had seen before him told me the only lift that could be done was a vertical lift for the type of appearance i desired, which would leave me with a rather large scar. When I told him my issue about the lift he did a circumareola lift so I wouldnt have a big scar. He took the time to give me exactly what I wanted! My breast look unbelieveable and are PERFECT!! Anyone looking for breast aug should DEF go see him!!! :)

I had a tummy tuck, breast lift and a lipo suction in DDecember 8, 2011 and I am very happy with the result. Dr. Metzinger is really the best plastic doctor. I would recomend him to anyone. Plus he does not charge much unlike the other plastic doctor i had consulted. My big belly is gone and my breast is awesome. I didnt have to have an impllant to look my breasst perky. He did a wonderful job on my breast. As far as my liposuction goes. i still do not see the difference but was told it takes time to see the outcome. A little advise to all of you that are planing to have a surgery to make sure that you can pee after your operation before you leave the hospital. I was sent home without being able to pee and i was in so much pain that I had to go to the emergency for help. That was my only concern, overall Dr. Metzinger is very nice and profesional and so is her assitant Norma. All his staff are very nice and polite. I will go back for more surgery if needed :))

Dr. Metzinger performed my tummy tuck, breast lift and liposuction procedures. The results have completely exceeded my expectations. I look better now than I did when I was a teenager. I am now six weeks post-op and I have had no complications, which I know is due in part to his skill as a surgeon. My breasts have a great full, round shape and they are now perfectly symmetrical. My tummy tuck incision is low and flat enough to be concealed by any underwear or bikini bottoms. And, for the first time in my life, I have a waist! I also love Dr. Metzinger's staff. Norma and Tiffany are genuinely nice and they are always willing to schedule my follow-up appointments when it is convenient for me. Norma was even able to make the horrifying "before" pictures slightly less painful for me! Overall, I am so grateful that Dr. Metzinger was my surgeon and I would recommend him to anyone.

Repaired my MOHS? defect on my nose. Used part of my ear. I breath better now than before my cancer surgery and there is hardly any scar. WONDERFUL!
