I'm a local physician and know the "who's who" of neurosurgery. Well all the docs in his group are excellent surgeons, I chose Dr. Brodkey based on his results. He's a straight shooter, and not ready to reach for the scalpel.
In my case, I failed physical therapy, epidural injections. Mircodiscectomy was my only option to get back into my active lifestyle (running, Crossfit). I'm back to running and hope to be back at the box after Labor Day.

I recently visited Dr. Brodkey after agonizing 4 months with back and leg pain. He was extremely caring and concerned about my health issues. After carefully reviewing my MRI and a meticulous physical examination. He mentioned that surgery was not the best option for my case at the moment, but an steroid injection will be the best avenue of care. 5 days after the first treatment I returned to work and I’m pain free and doing the things that I enjoy.

I’m extremely grateful to have seen Dr. Brodkey and I will highly recommend to anyone suffering from back pain. His care, compasión and expertise are what make him the best !

Dr Brodkey simply has the best "bedside manner" of any physician I've ever known. He looked at my daughter's MRIs and knew this was not his specialty. He recommended another neurosurgeon who's office we were less than pleased with (probably we were just spoiled by Dr Brodkey!). Since we were in a "wait and see" mode, we went back to Dr Brodkey until there were changes. He spent more time with us than I'd ever expected of any physician. I would highly recommend him to anyone who has spinal issues, and wish he was able to continue seeing my daughter. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable as well!

You would have to search long and hard to find a doctor, let alone a Neurosurgeon, that is the quality of Dr. Brodkey. Not only is he knowledgeable and skilled but he has such a great personality that you become immediately confident in his ability and know that you chose the right doctor. I had severe spinal stenosis in my lower back causing numbness in both feet and the condition was worsening every month. The nerve damage was causing pains from my hip down. Dr. Brodkey operated on my spine completely correcting this stenosis. Operation went flawless with very minimal pain, no nerve damage or other problems that can arise with this type of major surgery. He connected a wedge between 4 & 5 and a cage on each side of the spine. His pre-op, post op. and follow up is 5 star to say the least. It has been 4 months since my surgery and I am improving every day. It is hard to find the words to say how happy I am that Doctor Brodkey was recommended to me by my family doctor. The operation I feared turned out to be nothing to fear at all. The outcome could not be better and I owe it all to Dr. Brodkey.

I had cysts conpresssing my sciatic nerve and Dr. Broadkey removed the 2 cysts and fused a cage to my spine. I was in such pain and the minute I woke up from surgery was pain free. I owe everything to Dr. Broadkey.

This man gave me a second chance at life. I had back surgery in May 2017 which was a complete failure. The original surgeon not only performed a failed surgery, but could not figure out what he did wrong. For about two months I laid in agony with the only relief coming from a pain clinic that blew the back of my brains out with narcotics (which still did little to alleviate the pain). Thank God I had it in me to get a second opinion from Dr. Brodkey, who spotted the problem in about 15 minutes! Dr. Brodkey then performed a second corrective surgery and it was a total success. I am agony free. I highly recommend Dr. Brodkey, particularly if you have had a previous failed back surgery.

Staff very friendly & knowledgeable. Able to ans.questions. Always very punctual. Never had a long wait. If it was more than a couple minutes someone was informing you & Dr was in room soon after. Never been in any facility that was more helpful. The knowledge, kindness, & caring of Dr. Broadkey was above & beyond any surgeon my husband or myself have ever seen. My husband is coming upon his one year since O R. The day of surgery he did fantastic. Dr Broadkey helped him to stand & walk in post op holding area where he discharged him to go home from. NO Recovery room My husband felt great. NO pain. He was able to walk very well. Discharged to home where he used a walker first couple of days (just for balance). He only had a couple of pain pills first & second day. When he stated pain was not really bad enough for pain pill. After assessment of pain discovered it was only surgical, not from back pain. He was given Tylenol that worked very well & controlled the pain. He was able to do his own shower second day after surgery as allowed. Also gave up walker & was walking well on his own. On third day walked approximately 350' to mail box & back with no problems. Only problem after third day was making sure he didn't over do it. He was ready for normal activity. He stated he wished he had found Dr Broadkey & had the surgery much sooner. The follow up spots. With the Dr were very informative. Dr Broadkey is WONDERFUL. We thank God every day for his help in giving my husband his mobility back. My husband is 65 & pretty much a workaholic. All kudos to Dr Broadkey. We gave him a 10 rating on a scale of 1 - 5. He is Great. My husband was first or he ever released from O R to go home
