I had tremendous confidence in Dr. MIchalak, due to his professionalism and the time he took to explain the various treatment options. I also felt that I was in good hands with the rest of the medical staff. A very well-run practice that reflects the high standards of Dr. M.

I have been a patient of Issaquah Dermatology for approx 5 years. Since I didn't have major medical issues, I have never met Dr. Michalak but have always seen one of his many PA's. He has a difficult time keeping his PA's and after the 3rd one left, I decided to follow her to a different practice. As I do have a history of skin issues, I was searching for some sort of stability. The one aspect of the office that I did like was Leslie, the Medical Aesthetician. I have sent numerous friends to her for chemical peels, etc. I made my own appt for a peel one month ago and as I arrived at the office today, I was told that I can no longer get cosmetic services there since I am not a patient of Dr. Michalak. Unbelievable, as this was a chemical peel paid from my own pocket! Why didn't they tell me this when I booked the appointment? The receptionist was also very rude about the entire situation as well. I proceeded to call other local dermatologists to get an appointment, which I did succeed, and they have never heard of a practice having such a policy. I just feel terrible for my girlfriends who were actually patients of Dr. Michalak at one time...as they have the scars to prove it.

Went to this doctor for a questionable mole removal. I really liked his procedure assistant, but the front desk insurance billing man was a jerk. After the service I was told I would receive the lab results in the mail. Never received them. I received a call from a young women who wanted to schedule a follow up appointment but could not pronounce the medical words she was attempting to say. when I asked to speak to someone knowledgeable was told by her that it just means I have questionable skin cells and he want to remove more area. I asked to speak to an assistant again or the doctor. Was told they would call me. and she would mail my results. Months later I hear from her again, repeat of the past call and that I still have not received my results or spoken to an assistant or the doctor to discuss treatment. Then I receive a letter in the mail that they will no longer see me. Shocker. How dare I ask to speak to someone who can explain what the issue is, and what the options are for future treatment.

The Provider is a fraudulent biller. I am certain he relies on the fact you don't know what is being billed as you just have your co-pay and the rest goes through your insurance. He hides behind his PA's and only makes the grand appearance for money making cosmetic procedures. I get it, the ticky tacky stuff of everyday visits is of no interests. Let the PA's do that, he has higher skills. It's economics and efficiency stuff. In the end, he has cherry picked the stuff he wants and let's the peons pick the other fruit.

I went for a full skin check and was told upfront that I would be seen by one of his assistants for this procedure. All of the staff is very helpful and really know their stuff. I later had to come back for removal of skin cancer and saw the doctor, who was very patient and took the time to explain the procedure before we went in, the likely as well as possible outcome, how to minimize scarring afterward, and that I should call with any questions or concerns. Also, he was very gentle and caring during the numbing process and kept me talking and distracted during it. I would - and have - recommended his office to other people.

Bedside manner very lacking. I was sold by his upscale looking office and they took my insurance. He does okay for cosmetic procedures but doesnt have patience if you feel pain. He is not a great doctor. Mediocre at best. Did a bleph procedure on my eyes that could have been done way better. Also removed a skin cancer on my face and the scar just keeps getting worse. He always seems like hes in a hurry and not concerned with outcome. One of my biggest mistakes ever was not researching him better.

i made an appointment because i had dry/peeling skin issues the staff never told me i would be seen by the Physcians Assistant and not the dr and the assistant was totally clueless on anything i asked and was totally useless. DO NOT go to this clinic they are just dishonest and mislead patients

Wow. Talk about a bad experience. I had a cosmetic procedure done here that couldn't have gone worse. First, the awful local anesthetic administered by the doctor. Very painful and without mercy. I've received oral injections that were painless for this same procedure. He assured me his method was effective and faster acting...and I know why. External injections are faster- for the doctor giving them...but at what cost? No regard was given to my comfort or fact I was nervous. The rest of the procedure went ok after that, but my final result was uneven and bumpy. Bumps that didn't go away for months. This doc seemed in a hurry to attend to other patients, and had little time to answer questions. A big turn off. No thanks, I've since found another provider.

I had a small thing removed, and Dr M didn't get it all. When I went back to have the procedure fixed (another full price visit), he left a HUGE 3" scar on my face that protrudes 1/2" on each end. 3 years later, scar is huge and HORRIBLE. I think of him every time I look in the mirror.
