Dr. VanderVennett is a very wonderful doctor. He has a terrific bedside manner and really cares about his patients. I've been a patient of his for over 10 years and I will never change Gyns. His office staff is very courteous. I would HIGHLY recommend him to anyone who's looking for an OB-GYN.

I had surgery on 9/23 and it went very well. Dr. Vander Vennet was great and I felt totally at ease in his care. I was on my way to Florida on 9/30 with no problems.

I went in to interview the Dr. to see if I wanted to switch insurance plans so I could see him. I attempted several times before the interview to make sure that I would not be charged for this since I knew my insurance would not cover it. No one ever told me "no" they were just very vague. And I ended up being charged for it. The billing office was rude about it when I called to follow up on the charge. I sent an email and two letters to the doctor to let him know about the service I received and never heard anything from him or his office. I finally called to request to speak to him myself to make sure he was aware potential clients were being treated this way. When I spoke to him, he was sweetly defensive and smug about the whole thing. I am not a confrontational person and was very disappointed by this treatment. He was highly recommended by several friends, but after this I would not use him or recommend him to anyone.

Dr. V is the BEST!!! I switched to him when I found out I was pregnant relunctantly as I loved my former OB -GYN but he wasn't affiliated with Griffin Hospital. Well, I made the right choice because I ended up even happier with him and his staff in the end!! I actually looked forward to my weekly appointments! How many people can say that!?

I have always seen Cathie Miller (mid-wife), but once I got pregnant for the 1st time, I started seeing Dr. V in the Ansonia office. I was nervous at my first appointment, but Dr. V made me comfortable. My husband and I both trusted Dr. V and knew he was a doctor who truly cared about the health and well-being of his patients. Dr. V would spend at least 15 minutes answering my questions at each appointment. Even at my annual exam, Dr. V spent about 10 minutes asking me how it is to be a mom, the transition of going back to work and any issues or problems that I am currently facing. He cares - just as Cathie cares. The $600 is the cost of my labor/delivery that Dr. V charged that my insurance didn't cover. Dr. V comes highly recommended by me and my husband; I have told friends, family members and co-workers how good a doctor he is.

he delivered my 2nd baby by ceserean section and i have to honestly say that i was never in any real pain. it was smooth sailing all the way! he is one of the nicest and well-mannered ob/gyn's i have ever met. i recommend him to any pregnant woman!
